Last night was awful. After that Heath Miller TD, I felt like puking. I really thought we'd pull this one out. After numerous beers, shots of whiskey and general depression, I pulled out of my funk and took some positives from last night's game.
1) Wes Welker. I wasn't a huge fan of his, but he has made me a believer! This guy did everything for the Dolphins last night. Receiving, returning punts, you name it. My vote for team MVP.
2) Will Allen. He was by far the most impressive member of the secondary last night. He recovered the fumble on the goalline, made some great tackles and had good coverage overall.
3) A Glimpse of Daunte to be. Daunte made some BEAUTIFUL throws last night and overall moved the team well. It encouraged me to see we have a QB that can finally do that. Despite the INTs at the end of the game, I totally believe Daunte will continue to shake the rust off and shine.
4) The secondary. Overall, it could be seen as a disaster. But several things have to be taken into account here:
a) Travis Daniels was out
b) These are four guys who have never played together before this season.
c) We had no consistent pass rush.
Had any of those things been different, we might have seen a better performance from the DBs last night.
So I am back to real life here and feeling pretty good (the nausea has subsided). I'm looking forward to correcting these mistakes and learning from them.
Let's get out there and put a hurting on Buffalo!
