Frerotte will play himself out of the starting role, and then Saban will go with Sage in the second half. The playcalling will then get more conservative (there are many reasons why Linehan will do that, so insert one here) meaning that we run the ball a lot more, which is the strength of our team. We end up beating the Pats with our running, and Sage's ability to hit receivers on short and intermediate routes. There you have...maybe that's just wishful thinking, but I think it can really happen. I don't see why our team can't be like the Steelers and just run the ball down other teams throats. Now, I know we don't have the likes of Faneca and that dominant Steeler O-line, but we do have two of the better backs in the league that have shown that they can run despite their line. I refuse to believe that with an emerging star and a proven all pro at the tailback position that we cannot have our way with opposing defenses. Enough with the arguments that Gus "gives us the best chance to win" or that "he won't make the mistakes that Sage would make." This team does not need a star quarterback by any means, just someone who can "manage the game" (which means hitting open receivers when teams dare us to throw). Besides accuracy, the only other thing that our qb needs to be able to do is hand off to Ronnie, hand off to Ronnie, and a nice play action fake.

we wont change at halftime.. that would mean were losing if we did that. And when were down we dont run so Linehan would neg to keep frerotte in so that he can throw 25+ times in the final half.. Not even I would wanna see sage do that.

only if Sage is getting reps in practice. And we all know how much any of knows what goes on at practice.

The Steelers don't nessesarily just run the ball down anyone's throat....they also have a pretty decent passing attack led by some guy they call Big Ben.

We have a guy that couldn't hit water if he threw the ball off a fishing pier.

I think Gus will play frustratingly well... and p*ss us all off because we don't want him anymore, but play well enough for Saban to keep him the starter.

"Managing the game" is not as easy as it sounds. Look no further than Frerotte, Fiedler and compare to Tom Brady. It's far more mental than physical.
