Might make sense...was reading that their 1st round is to low to draft a quality back...sending it to miami for ricky would save big$$ by not signing Shaun..at least for a year until ricky wants a bigger contract.....no drop off in talent..we get what we want to draft a LT with a 1rst rnd grade

Forgot to mention that with the money saved they could resign their LG

It makes as much sense to me as Ricky to Indianapolis. If Indy is already on the horn with us asking about Ricky's price tag, why not Seattle? They're basically in the same boat.

I don't see any team that doesn't have atleast one other quality starting back taking Ricky off our hands due to the potential 'high'atus he could take if he failed another drug test. And if Seattle doesn't re-sign Alexander, they haven't that back.

by hearing all the teams who are intrested i think a first round isnt ridiculous at all

It's funny. You think Ricky is willing to go to another team who just got rid of their high-priced running back and accept a smaller salary?

He plays for us because Ricky is at heart a good guy. And I think he feels like he owes us something. And he's happy. And he owes $8.6 million dollars that we might forget about.

But don't think he's going to go play for peanuts for some team who just doesn't like to pay their RBs.

Ya know, losing a player whether its to a drug test or injury is gonna have an impact, true.. They might sign Alexander to the big $$ he has the right to ask for and he might have a season ending injury in a preseason game. . .the talent lost is still the same but Ricky would not cost them the same $$. .

I was not a fan of letting Ricky back, but he did go above and beyond to show his best behavior this past year and have become such a fan that I'd hate seeing him go for anything less than a high 2nd rounder

I would be shocked to see any team offer a 1st round pick (no matter how late in the round) for Ricky, not because the talent isn't there but because of the high risk factors. If a team does make that offer I would jump at it before they could change their minds.

He's under contract, he can do what hold out? thats it

Actually, that kind of makes sense. He wants to be in california, but that seems unlikely... and Seattle is about as close to Northern Cal as he's gonna get, since the 49ers and Raiders seem unlikely.

And Seattle is a Ricky Williams kind of town, really. Laid back, friendly, non-judgemental.

I could see Ricky going for that.

Do I think it happens? probably not. Would YOU give up our first rounder for a back who has two or three years left in the tank? Who is one mistake away from sitting for one of those years?

Ck...that's true, but I think the difference is that the FO and rest of the team for that matter love SA and they'll do what it takes to keep him...

On the other hand, it's rumored that Polian would love to dump Edge. He is indifferent to the organization and has created some issues there. But he is also very productive, so RW again, fits the bill for what they need.

Interesting...But Philly could also be in the market for RW...they'd love to have a solid every down back and utilize Westbrook in multiple sets...and are notoriously cheap...

SF and the Cards are looking for a back as well....they both pick higher in the order too....might get a better one thru them...

But the Colts...acquiring RW and dumping Edge solves their problems with Edge and still keeps them where they want to be....could be interesting...I'd love to be a fly on one of Saban's Little Debbies till the draft....

Injury is always an ever present factor, true, but we're talking about that risk being exacerbated by the increased probability that Ricky could sit out for an entire year due to his penchant for getting high and his subsequent status with the League. It basically doubles the risk a team takes, thus requiring them to keep another starting back. IMO

If I was one great HB away from a ring and picked near the bottom of the draft(Pitt, Seattle, Indy) I probably would.
