We really need to fix the special teams. This unit is going to cost us some games if we don't. Can you imagine the last game of the year against the Jets with a playoff or division crown on the line, and we have to kick the ball to Leon Washington!!! We need help now or we are in big trouble!!! :shakeno:

We need to kick it out of the back of the endzone every time. No matter if it is on punts or kickoffs. I'll take them at the 20 everyday of the week.

If we kick the ball out of bounds, it's a penalty. I'm pretty sure they won't be doing this.

rugby punts and squib kicks like troy state did to lsu last night
it took their whole return game and turned it into confusion

a kickoff specialist...we know Carpenter's leg isn't getting done.

Thats what they do in Carolina.

We all seen today just how vital big leg kickers are, especially to a team with bad Specdial teams coverage

I think the Colts used to do this when they had Vanderjagt...they had Danny Kight or whatever his name was.

He's ok,

I think the actual coverage unit is the problem.

Feeley was a liability on kickoffs because he never could even get it close to the 5 yard line, Carpenter at least does that. But when you're allowing 40 yard returns every time, thats a coverage problem. Something we definitely need to fix.

On punts...yes...but I don't think Carpenter has the leg to put it through the endzone (and don't bring up Denver...that was at upper elevations.)

how about we onside kick it every time? least there is some reward in doing this.

I would be for squib-kicking every time....we seemed to cover that OK...
