I find it very funny how everyone at least a vast majority are back in love with Ricky Williams. Everyone was ready to give him away for a bag of used pucks and this isn't even hockey:lol: People couldn't even stand the sound of his name. Now everyone can't stand to see him go or want a mint for him. I remember someone started a post and asked who would you keep Ricky or Ronnie and I said whoever performs. Simply that if Ricky out performed Ronnie I said I'd keep Ricky and got slamblasted and all that agreed with me. I also said that this would happen. Yea, I guess I am patting myself on the back but, I guess it's a little payback for all the bashing I got. i stick with my original feelings we should keep Ricky because I see a Csonka /Morris backfield again. I would only trade him for a big time QB ONLY

I think most Fins fans hated the way Ricky quit on us....he could have done it right after the season or before the NFL draft, but NOOOOO he does it right as we went into training camp....the good news is Ricky screwing us probably got Wanny/Speilman fired...so it is all good as far as I am concerned and Ricky paid back his "debt," with a solid year in 2006. I would like to see Ricky stick with us, BUT I am a Phins fan first before a Ricky fan, so if we trade him to improve that is what we have to do.

I agree 100%. Ricky is a great player who has had some problems. It sucks he quit on us. I think most fans have accepted the fact that he made a mistake. Forgive and forget.

Back when Ricky quit, I said at the time that the reason was Wannstedt. Wannstedt kept promising Ricky that he was going to get help, good help on the Oline to help protect him somewhat. His first year here, he lead the league in rushing pretty much all by his own doing. The next year took a toll on him with about the same OL. Yet Wannstedt PROMISED him help again and failed to deliver. It's not that there were gobs of good FAs available but that Wannstedt didn't make any offers to the ones that were available, or serious offers anyway. So, Ricky "stuck" it out and when it became obvious to him that help was not coming, he left right before camp started. Now it was pretty darned funny that soon after Wannstedt quit, the "ricky's coming back" rumors started, followed by some media accounts, etc. Saban had contact with him shortly after his hiring and if Ricky had committed before the draft, we may not have drafted ronnie. But simply put, other than Marino, Ricky is as good a player at his position that the Fins have ever had. I may be out on limb by saying that perhaps, but I don't think so.

Keep the political discussions out of the main forum.

nice prediction, ms. cleo. hard to believe one of the league's best runningbacks can outperform a rookie.

I know..., I wrote Saban would feature RW and then get what he could the followig year and people wrote how he wasn't worth anything well guess again...

If they ship RW they will need to give Kay Jay Harris a chance..., what do you think...?

I am still in love with RW and I say trade him...

I didn't predict anything. I answered a question that was simply asked who would you start or keep. I can't remember how it was worded exactly and I said whoever performs better in the preseason. I didn't say who that would be. I just said IF THAT WAS RICKY then that's who I would start. Where do you get a prediction from that.:rolleyes2

I think it s cool he quit. He indirectly got that sorry @ss Wanny fired. Enter the Sabinator. Notice most of the posts are about our return and not about how we finished in mediocrity again. Glass half full.

You're dreaming....R&R = Czonka/Morris...not even close...neither RW or RB are breakaway backs like Morris was and RB is closer to Czonka, but not really...

It's not about want to get rid of RW because of anything other than he is a luxury to have and we have other holes to fill. Stop patting youself on the back, you were wrong...It's still about putting the best team on the field. If we can get a good young CB or S with the trade for RW, we'd be overall a better team...period...if we can package RW to move up and get a better QB, we'd be a better team overall than with RW and Gus as the QB....

Get over yourself....

I'll give you no arguement on RB & LC, Larry, but RW & Mercury? That's another story. RW is a breakaway back and a threat from any point on the field. Just out of pure talent and power i would have to choose Ricky. Of course that's just opinion.

oh my god he told us so!!! HOLLERZ!!

Great, another "I told you so." Wow, neat. You are so enlightened. Good job Nostradamus. Maybe your reward can be a life? Fans here are in love with the TEAM and are happy when someone or something helps the TEAM win. I for one don't give a damn about the individual players beyond what they provide my team with. Damn right I was pissed at Ricky, but not because of anything personal, only because of what he did to my team that year. This year I supported him 100% because it was beneficial for my team, not because of his personal accomplishments.
