I love that we now have an offensive minded HC, but until I see the product on the field, or some additional decisions made around personnel, I can't say that I have any better of a feeling with Cam than I have with any other of our previous coaches.

Am I just gunshy here? Can anyone offer me solid reasoning behind optimism past the fact that we have another new coach?

He is talking about the team. They got the Vonnie deal done already, Him and Randy seam to be working well together already, and are on the same page, and he said today that it is a team, and even himself is not bigger then the team. I like the way things are going so far.:wink:

I hear you guys, and I like that Holiday is sticking around, but @ 20 mil over 4 years, it seams a steep price to pay this early in the FA game.

I (or should I say "we") get excited each off-season when any little thing happens. This off-season, I think I'm becomming pessimistic by default, and I don't like it (oh the irony...)

I want to see actual change happening for the better, and the truth is we won't be able to judge our coach's performance until htey are in the throws of the season (OMG it's only Feb!!!!!!!!)

On topic, if we're hearing the same things from Cameron as from every other coach, that's a good thing. It means the wheels haven't fallen off, and even though there are things that still need to get worked out, no one is on the verge of a Denny Green style meltdown. Saban's being snarky with the media was amusing, but it was now just an obvious mask for his frustration. As long as Cam looks and sounds cool and collected, we're still on task.

I hear ya. Hard not to be skeptical after the last several years. Cam has been a refreshing change to his predecessor (that little nazi). He's grateful, respectful and likeable. If anything, most players would likely want to play hard for this guy and we can only hope this lends itself to improvements on the field.

If i were you (this is kind of how i feel) i would just let it be what it is. We have a new coach, dont get your hopes up and EXPECT or ASSUME large expectations, but at the same time dont be negative towards him until he gives you a reason.. i guess that should be the rule, be happy with the new coach when he does somethin you like, and question him when he does something your skeptical of.. but dont ultimately judge him as a head coach until a year has passed or until we are 1-6 :)

Well consider the source...one of the top OC for the last four years. Our biggest weakness the last 7 or 8 years is Cams specailty. We retained Dom Capers and we will have the same top 5 D going into next year. Add to that a healthy Daunte and the return of Ricky williams and we have good reason to be optimisyic.

I believe this comment, I just don't know when.

A previous poster mentioned the return of a healthy DC and RW....these are 2 things that I don't believe yet. I have to chalk them up to "icing on the cake" if they actually happen.

I love that we found a way to keep Capers. I think we have solidified our defensive strengths and in Cam have attempted (at least) to address our myopic offense.
