The reason for this is I'm reading a lot of close minded opinions. I read that Cameron Wake wanted to play Basketball but he was guided to try Football because he did not have enough talent at basketball. He started playing football very late, that one of the reason for his was late in his mature developments. So, I see no sense on the comment some of you have argue on that " there is enough talent in the US why look else where" No man, Been big is one thing having multi talent in sport is another one. Listen, And I go again, in this park where I exercise I very popular in this city. It five straight 5 Km where they close the street at 4 and people go the street to run and ride their Bike. It where the 16, 17 ,18 years old still in school used to trained for Baseball and Basketball. Every day I see kids training running with big sides frame. 6"2-6"3-6"4-6"5 over 200# fast kids. NFL is loosing time on this, this is another form on how to get playes out side the Draft. You can get shipper player for a 2 or 3 years.

I think is may actually be a good idea. As I said previously, Todd Lowber never played football before coming to the NFL and he is on our team based on his sheer talent. We could stash one of these 19 or 20 year old athletic freaks of nature on our practice squad for a few years to develop and, at the worst, not lose a ton of money trying to develop a future star.

you cant compare the talent sure theres talanted athletes everywere but football in the u.s. is a way of life playing the game from a young age getting proper coaching along the way from pop warner to ncaa just because you see guys working out that are young big and fast dosent mean that they can compete at the highest football level. is there talent everywere yes but if it was as easy as you think rosters would be full of canadian/ outside u.s. born players but there not because the u.s is the best place to scout players for the nfl. theres always exceptions but its never the norm

Measurables do not mean they can play football. There are hundreds of kids a year in DI college football who are absolute athletic freaks, yet cannot transfer that to college football. Let alone transfer it to the NFL. There's learning curves from the college game for years, let alone from absolute no exposure. I cannot even think of a good example of anyone who never played football in his life, and then transfer into a succesful NFL player. Yes, there have been project, but I cannot think of any success.
It's like when a kid is 10 years old and tall and everyone asks if they play basketball. Its a stupid question. Just because you got the frame it doesn't mean you can compete with the literal "freaks of nature" that play in the NFL.

American are afraid overseas talent can take the bread out off USA athlete in football just like is happening in Baseball and Basketball. Someone in this forum made a joke about signing Manny Ramirez to our team but you want to know the sad thing about that joke. It would take our entire salary cap to sign Manny. We can't afford 25 million dollars player.

You want someone that never played Football in high school or college VICEN PAPOLLI. From the eagles he was 30 when sign as a free agent. Didnt you see the movie.

Wikipedia: "In his only year of varsity football, Papale won All-Delaware County Honorable Mention honors."

He did play high school football and was apparently damn good, but gave it up for track.

Plus I would hardly say his career was in any way distinguished. He was a special teamer and caught one pass for 15 yards.

If we took a flyer on this type of guy from overseas, and that was his career, there is no doubt fans these days would torch the coaches for it. If that is the best example, it doesn't look good.

The rest of the world just plain is not interested in American football, until the rest of the world develops youth programs you will not see much integration.

Plus if your suggesting its an NFL conspiracy for no International players, its ludicrous.
International players=more revenue from those countries. All for the greater good of money. Plus you see the NFL trying to open up to London with games there every year.
The NBA is benefiting hugely on their international success. especially in China.

Everything is for the greater good of money, and if the NFL could do it they would.

The biggest thing about recruiting athletes from around the world is prying them away from the idea of being a pro soccer player. The best athletes do it because it is the biggest sport worldwide. Football is big in America only but everywhere else it is soccer soccer soccer hockey (for all you canadians out there).

If you wanna get athletes from other countries you need to get them away from the sports they've grown up in. In that case, why stop at athletes around the wrold when we can steal homegrown kids from other sports! make recruits go to soccer, basketball, wrestling, track and field, and baseball games and look at the kids to see if they might be football players with training.
