I want you all to tell me again about how our OL is OK

I've been harping on the OL for some time (changes we are going to need to make for next year). We will not progress to the next level until we address the OL.

Long is the only proven keeper we have right now. Smiley will be coming off a second major injury. Satale is a great backup but he is not the type of center the trio likes. Thomas is an unproven 6th rounder and Carey is a goner IMO.

Because our 2 starting Guards on Injured Reserve... I'm happy with all the starters except for Satele. He is immensely overrated on these forums. He actually sucks pretty bad. I'd love to keep him though, he'd make a great Guard, but he blows at Center.

An oline playing with backups at the interior is not going to be dominant. Satale needs to be moved to OG. Carey, I could care less if he stays or goes. On the bright side, I dont' think he's going to get the money he thinks he will.

I agree with that. Carey has been a disappointment this year. He's solid, but if he wants top tackle money, then please show him the door.

We definitely need help along the OL, and I am inclined to agree about Satele. I feel pretty good knowing that Sparano (a former OL coach) will have a plan for this.

LT - Jake Long
LG - Samson Satele
C - FA/Al Johnson/draft pick
RG - Justin Smiley
RT - Vernon Carey (If he wants ABOVE AVERAGE RT money not LT money)

Bench
Donald Thomas, Shawn Murphy, Ndukwe (G/T), OT draft pick

Missing two starters or not, we need to draft OL with our first round pick.

We need depth along the line. I'd also move Satele to G. He doesn't belong at C.

Nothing about our OL is "OK." A lot has to change, and one of those changes has to be moving Samson to OG. LG or RG doesn't matter, let the offseason work all that out. He just needs to be moved to OG. The team also needs to draft a true C. A big body that can take on the strong NT's.

No. The problem is those two starters had season ending injuries. In such cases, there is no guarantee that they will return to the field as any more than shadows of their former selves.
