First off I want to explain to all you I grew up an hour away from Lambeau field and my great grandfather has been a season ticket holder since before the icebowl days. It is impossible to get season tickets in Green Bay. If you were to put your name in today you would be lucky to get tickets before you die. Well my great grandfather won the tickets by being the top sales man of the year for a local insurance company. A couple years before the ice bowl. My great grandpa died before i was born but he left the tickets to my grandpa in his will and still has the tickets today.

How did i become a Dolphin Fan??? My other grandparents live in Ft. Lauderdale and I vacationed there since i have been very young. My grandpa took me to a few games. I obviously fell in man love with Dan Marino and ever since have been a loyal Dolphin fan.

Anyways, my grandpa is getting older and he decided he didnt want to go the game so he gave the tickets to my dad and I. It wasnt overly cold about 33 degrees. Before the game started the field was a mix of brown and green. by the end of the game it was completely white. My dad has gone to pretty much every game with my grandpa for the past 20 years and said it was the best atmosphere he has ever seen, and the most snow that has ever fallen during a game at lambeau. When Brett Favre ran out on the field the entire stadium stood up and the loudest roar of the entire game came over the stadium. Every single person stood up at that time. Most of them never sat down the rest of the game. Not even when Grant lost the two fumbles. The snow fell so hard and so much that I turned around and gathered up the snow and was throwing snowballs throughout the game. There was such an aura over the stadium it was unbelieveable. If any of you ever get the chance to come to Lambeau field you should do so. I will never stop being a Dolphin fan, but I am definately jealous of the fans and the support they give at Lambeau field. One of the coolest expirences of my life.

great story. it definately looks like an awesome place to catch a game, with awesome fans... and the weather for that game was just awesome. it was awesome to watch on tv, so i can only imagine how awesome it must have been to see. did you take any pictures to share? hopefully their support doesnt die out when favre finally packs it in. sounds like you had a great time! thanks for sharing the story

My dad's been a fan for 35+ years of the Packers and he's always raving about their attendance and how tight the fans are with the team.

It's the truth man. I've never been to Lambeau and never plan on going but I certainly am curious to see what it's like there. Truly one of the most unique NFL experiences there will ever be I imagine

Very cool but you have to be nuts to go to a game in 10 degree weather.

Sorry I didnt take any pictures...But ill tell you this during the begining of the thirdquarter...The snow was coming down so hard. I couldnt see the fans on the other side of the stadium...I really wasnt that cold...The game time temperature was right around 30-32 degrees...For Wisconsin that is pretty mild...Today it is -3...Now that is spine chilling...I could have gone to the game with my pops tommorw but I turned them down it is going to be down right brutal at Lambeau tommorw...

P.S. You would be suprised how much JagerBombs and a bottle of whiskey can warm you up on a cold winter day.

Good post. While we're on the subject of Lambeau Field, here's an article about tomorrow's game called:

Imagine how many more tickets/money the Packers could make if they added an extra 30,000 seats to Lambeau Field. :winkwink:

I live about an hour from Green Bay as well and could have gone to a game at Lambeau last year, all expenses paid (ticket, food, etc.), but the Dolphins were playing the Jaguars and still had a very outside shot at making the playoffs if they won, so I decided to go to a sportsbar to watch the Dolphins instead, as I do every Sunday. Some may think that's crazy, but I prefer to think I'm only crazy about my Phins.

cool story.
today may be the coldest game since the icebowl, as reported on NFL Countdown. i'll be packer fan today, despite my past disgust for Farves record chasing.

30--32 isnt bad. i've seen plenty of Jet/Giant Games at that temperature. its funny how stadiums pull the extreme out of mother nature. when its hot outside...its boiling hot in that stadium, and when its cold, its extra cold in there.

my coldest was a dolphin-new england game game, back in the mid 90's. they sucked back then and had tons of humility. i sat in that crappy stadium on the bleachers and watched Dan beat those guys in the freezing cold. the fans were cool actually. one said to me "i hope you guys dont beat us too bad today." laughing,
