Hello To All.... I just got home and wanted to just put some camp pratice sightings up here.... I just want to start off by saying that before this RICKY WILLIAMS traffic problem conitnues to get really out of hand.....its really sad...but I have heard that because of this latest incident....the Dolphins are going to assign somebody from the front office to literally escort RICKY tomorrow morning---before the start of practice....to the Ft. Lauderdale Court house....where this licencing and tag problem will be formally addressed and done within the legal paperwork of the state of Florida.
RICK'YS main problem is that he has all of his cars still registered in the state of LOUISIANA....and those tags have indeed expired. Its really not that big of a deal....but Ricky just did not do anyhting about it....he just let it go....and just too the easy way out.....he just went out and bought another utility vehicle....that he did register with the state of Florida....but as for this Hummer....that he had brought with him from N.O....he just thought it would be alright to take the expired tag off of that car....and put the recently purchased new vehicles tag...on that HUMMER. This is why the police officer stated that the Hummers tag did not match that of the vehicle....it was from one of Ricky's other sports cars.
Its unfortunate....not about this kind of everyday police ticket write-up...this is really not that big of a deal. The problem is that it is RICKY WILLIAMS.....who everyone is aware of ...has had a history of traffic citations. Hopefully....RICKY will understand more tomorrow morning....when he gets into the waiting car of one of the DOlphin staffers---and takes that number off of the machine....and just has to wait on that long line...like everyone else....just waiting for their vehicles to be registered and now "legally ready to be driven"....by the Division of Motor Vehicles...State of Florida. Then when this thing is over with.....the staff helper better take all the registrations back to the estate of RICKY...with the proper tags....and then get them on the right, matching vehicles. I think RICKY has more than 4 cars at this point....and I can tell you this....its not going to be a mortal lock to bet that RICKY will immediately take care of this situation when he comes home. All I am going to say....is that this is one guy....who really needs to try and help himself and get the proper guidance...on the situations he does not know what to do on. The Dolphins are there for him......the problem is.....that he is just too shy to ask. But the paperwork will be done....with help...that is for certain...and tommorrow.

Now....on to the morning workout. I was there with ROBERT BAILEY....who had plenty of great things to say about newcomer DE ROB BURNETT....whom he played with the RAVENS. BAILEY said that BURNETT is as good when healthy as either of GARDENER or TAYLOR at starting DE. BAILEY remarked on how well BURNETT knows the game...and what to do out there. Well....BAILEY may have reached a bit about BURNETT's starting chances....but I will say this.....BURNETT...looked really good out there...and looked like he had been part of this team...for years. COACH BROOKS....did not have to walk BURNETT through much....as BURNETT is already accustomed to what is going on already. By the way.....BURNETT has paid off ADAWELE OGUNGLEYE for the right to wear #90. O-GUN is now wearing #93.....but from what I have heard from DREW ROSENHAUS...O-GUNS agent.....the man is now $10,000 richer!!

This was the biggest play of the day today-- you will read it in the paper tommorrow. JAY FIEDLER to CHRIS CHAMBERS over SURTAIN and CO.,.....the BOMB....on the fly....TOUCHDOWN! What a play to see...

The downright awful play: Was on the first series of offense vs defense......JASON TAYLOR and DARYL GARDENER were beating up both WADE and BRENT SMITH...for apparently easy sacks....whistles were blown....and Tony WISE was not happy about it.

Brent Smith is still struggling.

Marcus Spriggs is coming along very slowly...not up to full speed.

Mark Dixon was working and looking sleekly fit.

Shawn Draper caught some balls today....and got noticed.

Travis Minor made a great move on HALEY inside...faked him out of his pants....and went outside for a great run.

Leonard HENRY is making a push...also. Looks good.

James Mcknight very active on reverses today.

ROB kONRAD was also active....got some running touches also.

DREW is raving about his new client..LB JUSTIN SEAVERNS...#55....who has made some nice plays out there...particularly in pass coverage. A long-shot in my book.

JAMAR FLETCHER and RAY GREEN are battling out there...both showed good coverages out there...I was watching for this.

Jed WEAVER...with MAYES out.....is clearly the #1 TE right now.

I don't think TIM LEVCIK really stood out today....but you do notice how fast the ball travels...completed or not. NORV was really tutoring both the young Qbs....KUSTOK and LEVCIK after practice.

JEFF OGDEN dropped a few balls today....I guess his perfect camp run has come to an end.

ROBERT BAKER is making things happen....he really is.

Oronde Gadsden is also coming along slowly....says he will be ready though...when the pads come on for real. He really is not going to risk anything out there.

Overall View: It was one of the better practices I have attended. The tempo seemed to pick up a tad......and there was more offense vs defense drills. The team did not make many mental mistakes out there today....hardly any penalties...off-sides...etc. The mental part of Norv;s offense...that part looks more cohesive now. It looks like CHAMBERS and FIEDLER are really getting to know each others moves....and that was a great play to see...it really was. I think the only question mark right now....as I have stated before...is the LT position. I am curious to see what WANNY says about the play of SMITH and SPRIGGS this week....as he just has to see what the TAYLORs and also DAVID BOWENS...and now...ROB BURNETT is also showing some push out there. And as for DIXON...he is in no way, shape of form to move over to Lt right now. Things need to get better...and there is really nobody out there...now that BROCKMYER is gone to Denver. Many people thought the Dolphins should have been more agressive with BROCKMYER...and I agree.

I am going to shoot for Thursdays practice....can't go tomorrow.

Take Care..
DCH

Thanks. Great to hear about Fiedler to Chambers.

I sure hope so. This guy comes in as a bit of question mark and with losing Bromell in the offseason he needs to have a solid 7-8 sack season and keep the double teams of J.T somewhat.

Heh I give it 5 posts before the Jay bashers are in here making excuses about why that will never happen in the regular season lol

great report again DIRTYCASHHOLDIN !

  • After what happened w/the Diesel we should have a f/t staffer to drive RW 24x7.
  • Draper in the mix is interesting as far as Mayes' chances...
  • Burnett will be a huge pickup if he can return and stay at 100% health
  • I hope Norv has lots of plays where he rolls Jay out to his right to make it a longer path for the RDE to get to him

i am really starting to get concerned about the left tackle position...smith or spriggs isnt 100% and they dont have the speed that is required to play lt coming off their injuries...hopefully we can pick someone up during training camp...is anyone out their at all besides john fina???

Hey DCH. Was the Fiedler-to-Chambers play during 11-on11's?? 7-on-7's??

GOD...I do miss going to training camps...

Nice to hear of the individual success of the players...But the O line...i dunno...We need to find some type of depth for the O-line...especially the Tackles...But all things considered...sounds like things are coming along fine...:D

After growing up in Ft Lauderdale, and receiving numerous traffic tickets by those same cops...I know what happened...(and this sounds bad)It is called racial profiling...the police saw a young black man in a hum-vee and started following it. Once they saw the expired plates, the rest is history. Once they pulled him and he didn't have ID on him, they are required to place him in cuffs until his identity is confirmed. The police have procedures they are required to followin situations such as this.
I have been pulled without ID before and the police are not very understanding...lol
Don't hold this one against Ricky...we have all made simple mistakes like this one.
as a previous post said, as long as no drugs or alcohol are involved....all is good! Why did they search his vehicle... with a canine for that matter? Handcuffing for an expired plate and no license? Something seems a little weird. Sounds like this cop was going out of his way to find something wrong. With all the other crap that is going on in the world of sports, If a traffic infraction is the worse thing Ricky does, Who really cares. There is no way that he was "acting incoherently." Like someone already said, he was profiled and they needed and excuse to search his vehicle. Brian Greise was pulled over in Denver for drunk driving and they didnt treat him like a criminal by searching his car. Ricky tried to get away with swapping a plate on one of his cars because the DMV is a pain in the ass and they bring the dogs in. Hell, I dont even have my car isured, its a form of gambling, and I leave that to the horses. And whats the deal with plastic handcuffs? Are they tempting people to become criminals? "Hey, these are plastic, I could break these and get away?" Why dont they use the metal ones and not worry about any problems. F-in Wankers.

:eat:

I don't like the way our LT position is looking at all.

I can't understand why we didn't at least try to sign a healthy OLT during the offseason....We knew M. Sriggs and B. Smith were going to have these problems coming off inury.

Why didn't we focus on that position??....at all!!!

The Ricky Issue:

I've lived in Ft. Lauderdale my entire life as well. All I can say is this....

The Broward County Police Department Sucks!!!

I actually been thrown in jail for tresspassing while walking down my own street!!!.....

The cops down here are major jerks. They're abusive, unfriendly, ego tripping, itchy trigger finger freaks with no life, and no friends....

They're probably loving all of this with R. Williams!!!

They probably would have called out the dogs even if it were an 80 year old priest!!!.....They need to chill. Basically they suck!!!

PHINZ RULE!!!

Cops suck no matter where you live.

To Protect And Serve...yea ok, serve tickets, warrents, attitude....

The reason we didn't try and sign a healthy LT was because there simply weren't any.

I think he can do that easily, but you know that already.
