Earlier this morning I was just thinking that Miami must be optimistic about Ricky winning his appeal, we haven't really pursued any RB's to back up Ronnie, and we haven't made any attempts to re-sign Sammy..

So........ now that Sammy has been resigned, and so has travis, do we think that Ricky's going to be on a 12 month sabbatical in India?????????

Just a thought!

Most reports seem to indicate that Ricky has a "good" chance of winning his appeal...

Sammy, or Travis can be cut in training camp if desired...

I really dont think that has much to do with it.Cause Minor prolly wont get 10 carrys all season he is more of a ST player now.As for Morris he will get some carrys but not many.

Eh, I dont think the delay means anything.

Morris surely wants a chance to get more playing time. He couldnt get a surefire #2 spot it seems, so he came back here for a potential #2 spot.

Miami has been exploring options for a replacement for Ricky all offseason. They interviewed Najeh Davenport and Michael Bennett earlier.

This could mean Miami thinks RW is gonna be ok, it could mean they didnt like any of the guys they interviewed and will draft someone, it could mean alot of things. We dont know.

I'm not sure his signing has any bearing at all on the Ricky issue. Both Sammy and Travis are good special teams players and role players. They add experienced depth. I have my doubts about Ricky's appeal, the league likes to show they are tough, so it is good to have these horses in the barn.

I think the resigning signaled the end of Darian Barnes in a Phins uni. We now have Beasley (who will definitely be the starter) and Morris as a RB/FB. I doubt we'll keep another FB, so Barnes is probably done.

What happened to the FB with Navy committment? With Beasley here, does this signal his end?

I thought I heard a while back that what Ricky took was legal. I thought is was just a herb. I'am almost sure that what I heard it was a weird herb that does show up illegal, even though it is legal.

I don't think Saban would look at thinks like that, however, if they were worried about RW being gone, I would think they'd have been more proactive with the RBs that were available earlier in FA...We don't have to have an Edge or LT as a replacement for RW, but some second tier RBs were available earlier. Morris and Minor provide us with depth at the position and also both are good STers...If we'd have brought in, say Dookie or Mo Wiliams, they're not good STers, but better backs than SM and TM...I would think that if RW appeal is denied, KJ Harris would get a shot along with some other undrafted FAs and June 1 cuts...With the dearth of draft picks, RB with or without RWs is not a need (in the draft)...

I'm glad Sammie is back, he has good hands, provides quality depth at the RB spot and is considered a special teams ace.

good re-sign!

minors a great player in the Special Teams department. and if ricky doesnt come back, then morris would be a good back up. if ricky is back, then even better.
everyone is amped and optimistic that ricky will beat it, like michael jackson baby - the white glove

Good point larry I agree with you, oh and one more thing i want to say.

One thing that I thought was impressive with Ricky towards the end of the season, when he showed flashes of his brillance on the field. ....

It was a play against Tenessee after he broke off a big run, he nailed some db right in the endzone, then the db pushed him, then Ricky got in his face and pushed him back.........

That IMO shows his heart was still in it, he is a competitor, and if we are fortunate enough to have him, we could be in for a real treat next season.

Just my opinion.....
