The NFL draft was held

There is a pole on the main page where I beleive 76% of us are happy. We do have some haters but ignore them. Hodge said we had the best draft with only 2 picks and I love our picks as well. We now have a soon to be top WR and a starting Safety. As far as Greenway goes I would love to have him but I think next year is when we go after LB's for replacements of some older guys but feel solid about what we have going into this year.

Who's overall feeling? Nick Saban's? Jason Allen's? Mine? Finheavens? It was some what of a shock to some, like those who only had the names of Jackson, Holmes, Greenway, Lawson, and Cromartie on their minds, but, when you actually stop and look at Jason Allen's body of work, it's obviously he's going to give us a safety presence unlike I think we've ever had. He's big and fast and can cover the tall receivers as a CB and he's big and plays the ball VERY well in the air and has the playmaking ability of a Sean Taylor. Most write ups you'll find on Allen are VERY positive.

I think we had an excellent first day. Most people do. Jason Allen gives us a true star at the safety position, something we have lacked. He is big, strong, fast and can cover. Hagan is a perfect fit for the #3 WR this season, and a potential #2 down the road, and he was very good value where we got him. Many had him rated as the #4 WR in the draft, behind Jackson, Holmes and Moss. All in all, considering the lack of picks (again), this was a solid first day for Saban and Co. Its an exciting time to be a Fins fan.

P.S.- Merrill Hodge of ESPN called us his day 1 winner, as he really liked both of our picks and the immediate impact they could have.

if he can almost be as good as Sean Taylor, i'd be elated. he seems to have decent character so maybe he'll be better than ST.

Although they wont say it, most were very skeptical/mad/dubious when we drafted Allen and the boards lit up with people saying it sucked.
-Then about a half hour passed and everyone was happy with the pick cuz they realized it was saban. Myself included.
Then we drafted a stud in Hagan and everyone believed in the Allen pick more and was happy. :)

Also, Nick Saban had an interview after the pick and looked like he hadnt slept for years and kept smiling uncomfortably. You could tell he was exhausted/high.

that was my honest reaction. I had heard so much about the LB and DB's like Cromartie.

Then I went back and read the bio on Allen...WOW! He put up the numbers and as as much upside/potential (I'm sure you're tired of this word) as anyone in the draft. I'm just going to believe that Saban knows more about football than me.

Hagan is good too
