I wanted Fisher. In fact, it's documented on these boards that I was advocating for Fish back in '07 when it was made known that Fish could be had from the Titans. Of course, we ended up with Cam Cameron. So I feel a little bit like it's deja vu all over again, with Ross falling on his face in the effort to land Fisher and settling on a less than inspiring AFC West offensive coordinator.
That said, I'll always support the Dolphins and will give the new coach every opportunity. I would caution that we don't judge the HC by the record this year. There will be a lot of transition, and I fully expect things to get worse before they get better. What I will be interested in and following very closely is the new HC's game management and processes. Good processes will end up in good results more often than not, though they will rarely produce immediate results. Be wary of immediate results obtained by flawed processes. For example, installing gimmicks to maximize our roster in the short term for some wins now, AND THEN wasting time and draft picks installing gameplans and building the roster around those gimmicks - Wildcat/Pat White/ignoring the clear problems our OL had blocking for a conventional running game, I'm looking at you. It would be interesting to know what McCoy had in mind for the Broncos and Tebow next year had he remained their OC.
