I will support whoever the new HC will be. I have my preference, but not everyone can get what they want. I am a dolphins fan first, always have been. Here's to turnning the page, and hopefully ending the drout of crappy football.

People will love Mike McCoy. Not the next Don Shula, but he will evolve into a very successful coach that will bring success back to the Dolphins in time.

I will support McCoy even though he is an underwhelming choice.

Why do you believe he'll be a successful coach? I'm only asking because I don't know much about him. I like that he's a former QB though.

I have started multiple threads stating why I thought he was a great candidate starting last week at the end of the Fisher situation through this week as McCoy's candidacy started to pick up....

I am moving on from trying to convince people he should be the guy to trying to figure out how he will assemble his staff to what the team might do in free agency/draft.

People will LOVE his opening presser. Guaranteed.

That's cool. I wasn't looking to be convinced...just curious to what you know about him because I don't know about him. I'll check out those threads.

I'm a finfan for life no matter who the coach is. Losing season after losing sucks but I love the dolphins and nothing can change that. So who and when the coach is hired I'll support him till he proves he dosent deserve it. Hey Ireland if you want to look good and truly see possibly mcoy succeed go get luck or rg3

I wanted Fisher. In fact, it's documented on these boards that I was advocating for Fish back in '07 when it was made known that Fish could be had from the Titans. Of course, we ended up with Cam Cameron. So I feel a little bit like it's deja vu all over again, with Ross falling on his face in the effort to land Fisher and settling on a less than inspiring AFC West offensive coordinator.

That said, I'll always support the Dolphins and will give the new coach every opportunity. I would caution that we don't judge the HC by the record this year. There will be a lot of transition, and I fully expect things to get worse before they get better. What I will be interested in and following very closely is the new HC's game management and processes. Good processes will end up in good results more often than not, though they will rarely produce immediate results. Be wary of immediate results obtained by flawed processes. For example, installing gimmicks to maximize our roster in the short term for some wins now, AND THEN wasting time and draft picks installing gameplans and building the roster around those gimmicks - Wildcat/Pat White/ignoring the clear problems our OL had blocking for a conventional running game, I'm looking at you. It would be interesting to know what McCoy had in mind for the Broncos and Tebow next year had he remained their OC.

I've been a fan since the big Zonk came here back in the 70's. I am not going to let a change of HC deter my allegiance.

I just hope that Ross and Ireland have thought this change through as long and as hard as they could and that they come up with the right candidate and that the candidate can bring in the right co-ordinators to finally get this franchise back where it once was.

The fans of the 'Phins deserve a winner, and not just for one year, but for an extended period. Let us all hope this new regime can produce to all of our expectations. If not, the merry-go-round will be restarted and the fans' anguish will grow.
