please don't defend gus. his numbers suck, ok? his season rating is now hovering around 70, which is only a few points lower than his career rating. he is what he is, a backup qb. i wish we had a qb, we would be a serious playoff team. as is, we'll do good to go 7-9 8-8.

gus has not been the problem with us losing. The penalties have killed us

I wish that Dan Marino was 23 years old still. Point is Gus is the best we have and he is not the only reason we lost today. IMO Gus has been sufficient to win games thus far.

you are one of the geniuses on here that apparently expect Frerotte to play like Joe Montana every freaking game, and if he doesn't, "he sux"

nice logic, but to blame losses on him is ridiculous.....

What's ridiculous is to not blame losses on him. From people who were at the game, they say our receivers were open all day long and Gus couldnt get it to them. Its not the offensive line's fault. They played well today. It's not Ronnie Brown's fault, he had a good game. Its not the defenses fault. Holding Buffalo to 20 points should be enough to win the game. There is one person who lost the game today and his name is Gus

um, how bout the 18 penalties? maybe that had something to do with the loss?

Yeah you're right three picks had nothing to do with it. How could I be so blind

i didn't say he's not to blame for the loss, of course he is. but here's what you said

Fine I'll say it more correctly. Although, Gus should shoulder the most blame, football being a team game, everyone on the field and the coaches on the sideline should be held accountable. 18 penalties are not acceptable and if we somehow had had a no penalty game there is every reason to believe we might actually have won.

I don't think all the blame should be on Gus; penalties and turnovers are an expression of poor discipline - which comes from coaching.

Having said that, those who keep claiming Frerotte is blameless are not watching the same games I am. He does have a problem with throwing behind receivers on crossing patterns and overthrowing receivers on deep balls. It is so consistent, it's scary.

It's funny, Gus now has had 6 interceptions in four games. I wonder that, if his name were Feeley, he'd be getting this much benefit of the doubt?

There is plenty of blame to go around. Plenty. Gus deserves his too. He has nto played well, and I am hard pressed to believe he is any better that Feeley or Rosenfels. We have no real QB to go to, so Gus at least knows the offense.

Unfortunately he is getting plenty of help on the losing end. The DBs are sad, the penalties were an embarrassment, the defense really let us down the first half. Ronnie's fumble, there was no way we deserved to win that game. In the end it was just a prayer that we would win. But neither one of these teams should walk away feeling good about how they played.

I think the reality check is that we are improved, but still have a long way to go to learn a new system and to execute better. We are still a little short on talent. We are headed the right direction, but not there yet.
