This incessant Ronnie bashing borders on lunacy... There have been alot more COMPLETE BUSTS at the number 2 spot than FOOTBALL GODS.. Ronnie is neither. He is a very GOOD player. I am content with him as our back, particularely considering the players available to us at that spot in 2005.. He is outperforming every back taken in the Top 5, and is much more versatile.. And there IS still time for him to become better than just "good".

oh i totally agree...and in 2 years from now, id love to draft Brandon Ore out of Virginia Tech to compliment Ronnie...Brandon is quite a back, and using the two of them to split carries would make this a good running game.

I'm content with the pick because it was a weak draft and there was no one better that could have been drafted at that slot and we needed a running back since Ricky is so undependable.

He's also been the outright most productive player in the entire 2005 NFL Draft. What player from that draft has outplayed Ronnie to this point? Maybe Shawne Merriman, but that guy is suspended for roids!

Matt Jones?

Good thread, Ronnie is NO bust! He's a damn good player and will be the key to our running success for many years.

Ronnie is KILLING Matt Jones statistically.

Last year, Jones had 432 yds w/ 5 TDs. RECEIVING
This year, Jones has 157 yds w/ 2 TDs. RECEIVING

Last year, Ronnie had 907 yds w/4 TDs RUSHING
This year, Ronnie has 464 yds w/ 4TDs. RUSHING

Not to mention, that in 2 years Ronnie's got 448 yds receiving. He's receiving stats are dang close to Jones's

Ya Matt Jones is really lighting it up for Jax. Reggie Williams is man in JAX.

His problem is he's been hurt for appx 5 games....but still has a 12 y.p.r avg...and at half the cost that Brown earns.

Two points:

1. You can't take injuries out of the equation. Its all about production. Ronnie's a beast. Jones is injury prone. That's not for nothing.

2. Of course we're comparing apples (RBs) to oranges (WRs), but WRs always average more yards per touch than RBs. That's like saying that a quality DE with 7 sacks is better than Ed Reed because Reed only has 3 sacks.

Pete, I often agree with you. But c'mon dude.

Just trying to make a point....I can remember when a few here thought Jones was the second coming....so to speak.

Here's the 2005 Draft 1st Round. You could argue that certain guys are performing AS WELL as Ronnie, but you'd be hard pressed to say any of the guys are markedly better.
