Plenty of good candidates for Ray Anderson’s job. But If it ended up being Dawn Aponte, she’d be the highest ranking non-owner in NFL

.@NFL needs to fill Ray Anderson’s VP of Football Opps job. It’s early. But 1 name I hear who may be in the mix: #Dolphins exec Dawn Aponte

I find this interesting. I think if she does move on, it gives Ross a chance to find a solid football person to fill her role. That could help the GM and the HC (that seems to listen to her way too much). In terms of her work with the cap, many, many, many people can work the numbers. She is not doing anything that others are not doing around the league.

I doubt she leaves a job where she gets to hug Joe Philbin after games. What could possibly be better than that?

Well, she'll just have to re-enter the draft because we're prepared to move on so, tough s***!

Seems like she has done a good job with the cap so far.

Although she probably doesn't get along well with the Irish potato-head and might be why she will move on anyway.

Wonder if Ross will let Philbin have more say in the players that he wants in the draft and free agency? Ireland looks like a control freak to me.

I don't like that bitch. Something about her doesn't seem right.

This is your first post that I agree with wholeheartedly. Ever since she blurted out that bit about letting Tannehill go back into the draft because of the contract clause, I lost all respect for her. You can THINK those things. You don't SAY them in front of a TV camera.

Dawn's husband/boyfriend probably hasn't has a home cooked meal in years. She needs to go home and make him a sammich. :d-day:

You people bashing her are clueless. Its her ****ing job to be a bitch/bad person in the organization so they get the best deals possible. What should she do just roll over and let every agaent stick it to the Fins? She has actually done a tremendous job in managing the Fins cap situation.

That she has, but contrary to popular belief, being an ####### does not make one more proficient at their job. It just makes him or her an #######.

Most of the women who I have been around who break the glass ceiling and get to the top, in a traditionally male profession, turn into some of the biggest C's (rhymes with hunt) that I have ever been around. Although my best boss ever was a woman. She didn't have a power trip and was a total professional, and treated everyone the same way. I wish Dawn well, wherever she ends up.

I hope some of these posts are just joking but on the flip side, I won't be sorry to see her go.

I don't like the fact that she has pissed off many of our key impending free agents by being RUDE. Not just a tough negotiator, but actually rude to them.

Aponte and Ireland were pillow fighting all season..she was obviously siding with Philbin and hoping the Jeff would get canned. Now that it looks like Ireland will stay, she is in an awkward position.
Her power play failed.
I think Aponte is a pretty good cap manager. She is better at what she does than Ireland. Again, Ireland will replace an effective cap manager with a mediocre cap manager. It is his track record.

Hmmm ... trouble in paradise or a sign of things to come?
