the 1973 team was better...plenty of the players from those teams say that too

Possibly the best two year run a team has ever had. Miami went 32-2, had an undefeated season, allowed one offensive touchdown in two super bowl wins. Very impressive team that simply dominated with the running game and defense.

dont forget sf d-fan that shula rested most of the starters in the season finale against baltiomore in 73 because they had everything wrapped up already and had nothing to play for..

Yes....but the 72 team went perfect....whereas the 73 stumbled twice.

Both were number one in offense and defense in the NFL.

'73 faced a much tougher sched. it's a great debate to have for you guys, you have 2 al time great teams. can't go wrong with either but I think the '73 team was better based upon what I have read, seen, heard.

Cant argue with the W's.
Number 1 offense and 1 defense as well.
No smoke and mirrors...or cheating..

Both teams are among the best SB teams ever to play the game, so can't go wrong with either.

73 might have been a better team but perfect is perfect .

Here's a good way to settle it. If you were an opponent, would you rather play the '72 team or the '73 team?

Not "among" the best, perfect qualifies as Best. And #1 in both Offense and Defense - has that ever happened before?

So you don't think the 1973 team is also among the best ever?

Kind of make you wonder how those perfect team members feel about it and how open they are to including players that werent on that perfect team but on the following years team

Like Ed Newman, drafted in 1973 wasn't part of the perfect team but played the following year for the second championship. Then he played in a Super Bowl with Marino 11 years later.

I bet it is a pretty closed group as it should be.
