Idiot bashes the 72' Dolphins yet again.

what is he talking about, unwilling to share spotlight with any other team. I read most of the '72 players and Don shula, had mixed emotions when the colts lost, becuase they partly were happy that their record was intact, but they were also kind of pulling for the team also, and would have given great props to Colts had they done it.

People can talk all they want. Bottom line is that they're jealous. If the 72 Dolphins are so overrated, other teams should go 14-0. Football is about winning, and in 1972 the only thing the Dolphins did was win. Saying that is overrated is pure jealousy.

Some people want to say that the 72 Dolphins had it easier than todays teams because of the 16 games regular season schedule and Miami only had a 14 game schedule.

Well, if that's the case, then why hasn't a team gone 14-0 since the league went to a 16 game schedule. No one has, have they? I think the '85 Bears were the closest.
What say you?

A good point why dont you e mail his ******ed ***?

Is anyone else getting sick of the "celebrating another team's demise"? Every victorious team celebrates the other team's demise. Maybe there should be no champagne allowed in the locker rooms of the NFC and AFC champions, or better yet, the superbowl.

What a moron this guy is. It clearly shows that he is a 100 percent Dolphins hater. Screw him and his damn opinions.

You are an idiot and I can't believe you get paid to write such poor articles. First off you love to say how all the teams they played had losing records except for 2. But fail to mention how there were no dome stadiums back then. You also fail to mention that the 72 Dolphins had to win the AFC Championship in Pittsburgh. Now I don't know about you but that is a pretty tough place to play in the playoffs even if the steel curtain didn't arrive yet. But that same Steeler team was considered the team of the 70's even if the were matured enough yet to win it all. I wasn't alive for the 72 team but I am a big Dolfan. And for you to question the feat that they accomplished without another team going undefeated is beyond me. You will never see another unbeaten team in the NFL. The 72 Miami Dolphins are legends because they went unbeaten and one the Super Bowl. They will be talked about every NFL season when there are no more unbeaten teams. And that you poor accuse for a journalist makes them immortal.....

What do you guys think

I'm seeing this type of idiocy all over the internet. It bugs me but I'm actually enjoying knocking some of it down with plenty of specifics. Inevitably the people bashing the '72 Dolphins are simpletons and if you confront them with basic facts and a structured argument they backpedal or run away. I've been greeted by profanity on many sites but that's an admission of defeat.

The '72 Dolphins had 9 Pro Bowlers. The '73 Dolphins had 11. Those were the years of 40 man rosters so basically 1/4 of the Miami team was voted allstar caliber. Now that's a fairly powerful argument against the idiocy that it was a flawed and lucky team that lacked special talent. Especially when you consider Keuchenberg didn't make the Pro Bowl either of those years, despite being a Hall of Fame semifinalist many times recently, and Griese obviously didn't make the '72 Pro Bowl after breaking his ankle early in the year against San Diego. Anyone wanting to argue the team was overrated has to somehow believe we fooled the Pro Bowl voters, as well as the scoreboard for 17 consecutive weeks.

This point is so right on target.

16 fan bases and 16 teams celebrate the demise of 16 other teams every single week during the NFL season!

Those stating that the 72 Phin players are unsportsmanlike because they "celebrate another team's demise" are being rediculous.
