I wouldn't be so sure that Beck is going to be the starter.

McCown was promised an open QB competition and I don't think they would have lied to him about that (or else they would have a very hard time signing guys in years to come)

Also, Chris Simms is probably going to be cut by Tampa, and I think Tuna might not be able to keep himself from signing a QB named Simms.

Then we would have 3 QB's on the roser aged 28, 27, an d 26. So any of them could be our "QB of the future"

I'm in agreement with Mel Kiper on this one (I agree with him way too much these days)

We either draft Ryan, or we don't draft a QB at all.

If we're unsure about Beck, then we have to draft Ryan. If we think Beck is our guy, then we have too many other needs to fill with those picks.

If Beck doesn't work out then you go back to the drawing board next year.

I don't deal in what ifs. I'd prefer to decide when it actually happens. I'm not going to pre-plan Beck's failure. Until then, he's our QB and I believe he has the tools to be successful.
