There seems to be a nearly can't-miss position for the Miami Dolphins if they choose to go with the No. 14 pick in the NFL Draft: defensive tackle and Texas' Malcom Brown might be the man.
"I'm a big Malcom Brown fan," said Daniel Jeremiah, NFL.com draft analyst and a former scout for Philadelphia, Cleveland and Baltimore.
"I think he'd be a great fit for [the Dolphins]. He's one of the guys we've got that can really get after the passer, but he can really hold up. He's a good point of attack guy as well. I would be all in favor of that."
Conventional wisdom says the Dolphins are favoring using their first-round pick on a defensive player. Defensive tackle, linebacker and cornerback are atop the wish list defensively.
At tackle, the Dolphins could lose Jared Odrick via free agency and Randy Starks (counts $6 million on the cap) to free up money on free agents. The Dolphins only have about $1.6 million right now.
One draft analyst thinks No. 14 might be a bit too high for Brown.
On the other hand, that's what people said about tackle Ja'Wuan James last year when the Dolphins took him at No. 19, and he turned out to be an excdellent pick. Regardless, everyone agrees Brown is a baller

"Malcom Brown, to me, is a first-round guy all day long," NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock said. "Love his size. He's 6'2", 320. He's stout versus the run. He can push the edge, push the pocket. I think he'll go somewhere in the 20s, between 20 and 32."
