We would have a big advantage over New England and the Jets, think about it we would have two head coaches from the same division on our team that means a total of 8 games aginst the Pats and Jets last year, when you play a team more than once in a season you start to learn their tendencies. We would also have have a better chance when we play Buffalo be because Mularkey knows the tendencies of the Buffalo players. Also if we sign Dom Capers he would give us a little advantage over teams he'd played last year especially the Colts, Jags, and the Titans when we play them.

Should we get both Capers and Mularkey, we would have one of the top three coaching staffs in the NFL. However, I would be concerned that there would eventually become too many chiefs and not enough indians. Unity on a coaching staff is really more important than player unity. Nonetheless, I have complete faith in Saban to do the right thing.

Yeah, under Saban, I wouldn't worry about the too many chiefs situation. In Fact, I am sure that's something Saban has already discussed with both of them and may be the reason they are checking out other options first. Anyone that comes here to be an assistant or coordinator will know in no uncertain terms that there is one voice and one head coach of this team.. If they can't deal with that, then don't take the job.. I agree that combo would be pretty sick though...

Don't forget that Rick Venturi may be added as well. Reports say that Venturi has been offered a position on the staff as well.

Yeah getting the chemistry right is important, and I too have faith in Sabans decision. He made it quite clear that he wanted Mularkey from the beginning so i hope that is who we get. Capers record speaks for itself

One of the things that coordinators like about Saban is that he offers autonomy to the offensive and defensive coaches.

Really?

If we get both, we will have one of the top staff in the league. I really hope we get them both.

Venturi is in the same mold as Saban. He's condiered a great teaching coach and defensive startegist. Plus he spent time in Cleveland with Saban. However, he is considered still under contract with NO until they let him leave... I believe.

I hope will sign them, I think Capers is a candidate of the bills head coaching position, so lets hope the bills sign Dick Jauron.

Sorry man, I don't follow your logic. The Jets have a new HC and DC. Herm is gone. How would Mularky know Mangini's tendencies???
