...i definetly take matthew stafford...i think the talk of sanchez or others, is a smokescreen...i pass on Brown...i snatch stafford...then i do everything in my power to make sure stafford has matt ryan type of support...

...with the Cowboys pick, I hope that Michael Oher slides to 20...if he doesnt, i got defense and take the top d-man on my board...maybe everette brown...or maybe bj rajjii...but i really try to snag Oher...

...with the first choice of round two, if i didnt take oher, i take beatty or britton for my left tackle spot...if i took oher with my 1b, i target the BPA...which could likely be pettigrew or ziggy hood...

however it plays out, the lions could really do well in this draft...when you consider cherilus and and a good LT, then calvin johnson as my number 1 target...and maybe pettigrew, who would help immensely on his 2nd reads, when johnson is covered...

sorry for posting about the lions, they are just a disaster and i think they may mimick how we drafted last year and by that i mean, draft OT...and they could very well do that with pick number 1 then come back for josh freemen with pick 1 of round 2...i just think stafford is such a unique quarterback...hes chad pennington with an arm...

No need to apologize, this is the draft forum.. its not Dolphins only

I think that would be a very smart plan for the Lions as well.

i hope the lions succeed, i think they should take stafford, and grab a LT at 20. I doubt Oher or Andre Smith are there, I'd say they both go to the redskins and chargers respectively.
I think they will have a pretty solid draft, they just have to be conservative and retool that team like we did.
If the Lions can represent Detroit for the grime that it is, it could be a mean place to play. I'd love to see Kevin Smith get 1000 yards this season

I dont know if Matt Stafford is really worth that high of a draft pick i would stay with culpepper this year fix the Defense and the O-Line and next year if they are at the top of the draft take sam bradford

Maybe he isn't worth it, but then again maybe he is.. With no definite way to know that I think they have to take him.. They still have another first round pick and can grab another quality player at that spot as well be it OL or defense.

They don't have a franchise QB, or one they think can be one, and I tend to lean with the camp that says if you don't have that, you shouldn't pass up a chance to get one. Whether Stafford is that or not, that's the risk you need to take if you are Detroit. If they were really smart, they would have found a way to get Jay Cutler..

since i dont have the ability to access many game films and break them down like bommer or ck, i pretend that gil brandt is my head scout...so i took his top 100 and picked accordingly...

i do believe that matthew stafford is exactly what he is being projected as, a top qb...i think he is better than matt ryan...what he needs is protection...and if im the lions i pray that a top LT falls to them at 20...and going by gil brandt's draft table, oher is a guy i pounce on...

if i were the lions i would draft Jason Smith OT, trade a 3rd for Derek Anderson (realistic trade IMO) and you get a good QB, and a franchise LT. Then you still have a late first to get more help (probably defense)

Derek Anderson was terrible last season, and wasn't even that good the season before. They are better off sticking with Culpepper and getting someone they can groom.

Well, if Matt Millen was still GM, there would be no discussion on what position, but rather who at that infamous pass-catching position......Things were so much easier when Matt was there. :(

who knows, maybe they trade for quinn with one of their post 1st round picks...but when he came out i didnt value him much more than drew stanton...and stanton is on the lions roster...

I think Stafford will be another in a long line of busts for Detroit. I don't think Staffored would rate any more than a late #1 in any other draft.

i just dont see it...i think he is better than matt ryan...and better than any qb since the eli-ben-rivers draft...he has a very strong arm and has the wits of pennington...

how are they going to win with out a Defense or an OLine to protect him

I would like to see Detroit get things turned around and be competitive. I kind of feel bad for there fans because they have had very little bright spots on that team. Who ever they decide I think they will try to follow Miami's blue print and have that player signed before the draft.
