Simple way to get him. Cut Moore. Cut Patterson. Frees up an extra $10 million. Boom. Got him. If Hickey is cool with paying a backup who came in for one game and sucked $5 million instead of going after the best safety in FA. I'd love to keep Patterson too if he's healthy. My main point: Cut Moore or make him take a pay cut. We'd still have $16 million left, including the draft and Albert at about 8 million a year. Can make 2/3 big splashes this year.

Signing Albert and Byrd with the recent Grimes signing would be a coup for the fanchise.

...we will be the Yankees of the NFL...

I don't see the comparison. What Miami needs is a GM who doesn't force the team to have to get free agents to fill the team out. The Yankees bought everyone because their owner was an egomaniac and even though he's gone, they're still the Yankees and that's what they do.

I'd love Byrd to go with Jones. If we can't get him, or Ward, we should keep Clemons. Also agree on cutting Moore, he looked bad in spot duty this year, and generally is overrated on this site.

I'd be fine with that if it somehow happened. Somehow, it never seems to work out that way, but hey you never know.

Heads up to #Dolphins fans- TJ Ward is very similar to Reshad Jones. If Miami doesn't get Byrd to replace Clemons, they'll look to draft

#Bills announced that they will not use their franchise tag.

The '82-'92 Yankees

I am very proud to admit I loved those Yank's teams growing up. Donnie Baseball was my hero as a kid. It still pisses me off to no other that he had to retire due to a bad back and that he never won a WS, let alone ended a very possible HOF career. It now really chaps my ass they he is the manager for the god damn Dodgers and the Yanks have the "Black Binder" as theirs.

Not really interested in Byrd. Make a big play, but gives up a big play, and wants a ton of money. I'll pass.

That was my era as a kid too and I loved going to the Stadium and sitting anywhere we wanted but the black binder did win us a WS.

I wish Mattingly would have won one but it wasn't meant to be and as much as I love him he's kind of cursed. Yanks make WS in 1981, Don comes up in '82, Don retires in '95, Yank make(and win) next WS in '96, Yanks make 6 WS from 1996-2003, Don joins team as coach in 2004 and we get the Sox collapse, he leaves and w/in 2 years the Yanks win another WS.

sorry this off track a bit, last post on the Yanks for me.

as far as Byrd, he's going to be expensive no matter where he goes but a lot of teams have cap room now so there should be a nice bidding war.

I like Byrd, but don't break the bank on him.....we have too many other needs.
