If Kolb is so good why isnt HE starting?

He was the starter when the season started and then got hurt.

Vick is not elite - people are ridiculous with that guy. Great athlete but he is not an elite QB - no way! Would anyone pick him over Manning, Brady, Rogers, or Ryan to name a few? You would be crazy if you said yes. Can he have a great game - sure if the D let's him run wild. Keep him in the pocket and then what? Is he going to pick apart a D consistently - no way! That makes you wonder about Kolb - how good is he really? If he was truly a dynamic QB they developed then you have to wonder why not trade Vick who would have all kinds of value because of the marketing sell he would have for teams. If they trade Kolb away that tells you everything you need to know about Kolb - 2nd string QB at best.

Because both Vick and Kolb cant both start

Why would Andy Reid want to develop another QB when he has Vick ready to go? Vick probably has a good 5 years left in him and that be longer then what Reid has left in his tank. Reid is playing to win now. He is not building for the future.

HMMMM IF AARON Rodgers was soo good why did he stay on the bench when favre was at his end of his career...makes no sense what you say.....same with brady n bledsoe and romo and bledsoe...and btw theres alot more qb's that are hidden gems...KOLB could be one of them

Classic DirkDiggler thread

DirkDiggler gonna Dirk.

yea but dude the difference is the coaches didnt trade those guys cuz they knew they had gems... see the difference?

to the other poster.. how can you even say vick isnt elite? because of his race or past history. look at the body of work he put on the field this year. he's not the same run first guy he picked teams apart through the air week in and week out and ran when he didnt have an open man. the guys only getting better and better. and yea i would pick him over matt ryan, maybe not manning or brady or rodgers, or maybe i would, at this point hes a top 5 guy, and any one of those guys can come out and outplay the other on any given day. i mean i thought thats what elite was... one of the top guys at your position.

by your logic would jake long not be an ELITE LT because joe thomas might be ranked higher then him by the nfl? open your eyes man. the guy can throw the rock with power and accuracy, hes reading defenses and feeling pressure. hes doing his homework

If Kolb is so good, why on earth would the Eagles trade him for anything less than (2) #1 picks or something else spectacular? They know him better than anyone and if they let him go 'cheap', that should tell you everything you need to know especailly with the sky high risk factors on Vick. I would pass.

The Eagles can not afford both him and Vick on the roster. It would eat up too much cap space and they have no choice but to drop one of them. They are going to shop Kolb to the highest bidder period. What they are asking is irrelivant because they can not just sit on both QBs. What will determine Kolb's value is what other teams are willing to Pony up for him. None of this matters until a new cba is set and a new cap is installed. Until then Kolb is an Eagle.

Kolb did nothing this year, but I do not fault him for playing behind Vick. Vick had a 3-1 TD to INT ratio. Kolb had a 1-1 ratio. There is no way Vick loses that job. Vick is definitely a top 10 QB.
