I think Martz will be gone after this season and probably Linehan (sad to say :( ). IMO, he would love to come here and we could definately pay him enough to make it worth his while (WH always get the guys he wants right?). He is up there with Linehan as considered to be the best at what they do. Also, it will be a much less stressful job for him. He can just focus on the offense (what he does best) alone and not be criticized for every little thing that goes wrong with the team. JMO.

Mike Martz needs to take a year to make sure his health is up to a return to any sort of coaching.

I think Linehan stays one more year.

he can coach elsewhere so i say he will leave after this year

Personally, I do not want Martz. The rams in the past 2 years have been a much better football team than their record has shown. A lot to do with the play calling of Mike Martz. We invested a #2 pick overall with a very talented Ronnie Brown and the last thing I want to see is the Dolphins airing it out w/out a QB that can get the job done.

If Linehan does become the Vikings next head coach who would you choose to be our next OC assuming Martz is fired or resigns after this season?

Well, I don't think Linhehan will be gone. But if we had to replace him, I wouldn't want Martz. He's WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too pass happy. He had the best back in league for a couple years and didn't utilize him on the ground like he should've because he was too busy working with Bulger and Warner.

Martz stinks
Martz may not be the best head coach, but he is an EXCELLENT offensive coordinator.

if/when his head coaching gig falls through, he will always have a place in offensive play calling.... its a natural gift for him. his offenses have been perennial leaders of yardage...

But, it would be Nick Saban calling the final shots. When you have Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams on the field at the same time you would like to be able to pass anyway, both of them are excellent receivers. Mike Martz would have a field day here.

Yeah, you do have some valid points. But if we did get Martz, who would he use to toss the ball to these guys 40- 45 times a game? Definately not Gus.

Personally I feel Minny would go with a defensive minded coach if they replace Tice. Someone in the mold of Mora Jr. or Mike Nolan. Just a hunch. Than again rumor has it Brian Billick may be on the street after this year so perhaps he goes back to Minny?
