would you guys be against bringing in Mike Martz as offensive coordinator in Linehan's absence?

Just don't see Martz and Saban co-existing, although I don't mind Martz's system.

Martz will coach the Saints

Baggett will be our OC

FWIW, Joe Rose said this am that if Linehan goes, Baggett's going with him.

Baggett coached with Saban for years before Linehan.

Charlie Baggett was named to the Dolphins’ coaching staff on January 25, 2005, by Head Coach Nick Saban. Baggett is a veteran of eight seasons as an NFL assistant coach, including the last five as wide receivers coach with the Minnesota Vikings where he helped put together one of the most potent offenses in the NFL over this stretch, along with current Dolphins offensive coordinator Scott Linehan.

This will be his second stint working under Saban, as he was the wide receivers/associate head coach on Saban’s Michigan State staff from 1995-98. He also worked on the same staff as Saban at Michigan State from 1983-87.

He was Associate Head coach at Michigan St and is the Fins Assistant Head coach now, which is higher then Linehan's title, so don't be so sure.

Rich Rodriquez, offensive coordinator for West Viriginia, may be on the radar. Longtime friend of Saban's, the two go way back

Martz has already stated that he won't come back as an OC. It is head coach or bust for him.

would u guys be open to norv turner coming back as OC ?

I don't think we need to start worrying about replacements or any of that until it's definite that Linehan is leaving.

All signs right now point to him staying with the Dolphins for at least one more year. Even most of the newspapers, who are so eager to report anything negative on the Fins, have said that Linehan is most likely building his stature around the leage for the next few offseasons.

He's not even the top candidate on most teams' lists. I think he's safe here for another year.

Don't be so sure, with the numerous positions open right now, demand is high. That means $$ will be high. It's unlikely that we'll see another year like this for a while, he might seize the moment.
Good thing so far is, the Rams are likely to lean toward a defensive coodinator to fill the position. Not sure about the Texans though - turning down a position with so much up-side would be difficult if a lot of $$ and control were handed over.

I don't think Baggett can leave. Isn't Assistant Head Coach, which is what Baggett is, considered to be a higher position than coordinator? Meaning he'd have to get a HC offer to break from the contract we have him under. Either way, I think he sticks with Saban. They go way back, like NJ said.

Rodriquez is the head coach of WVU. Not sure if he would leave that for an offensive coordinator position in the NFL.

I'd be all for it. I know he's a strong willed guy, but no one's going to muscle Saban. I really don't see Martz going back to head coaching due to his heart. I'd like Linehan to stay though!

Why would we want Martz when he passes 65% of the time. We are built around our running backs. "If it doesn't fit you musta quit."
