If Luck Wins the Heisman?

Eh, the Heisman. I love how they still try to portray it as an award for the best college player that year.

There have been alot of great players that have won the heisman..

There have been alot of bad players that have won the heisman.

That is all you can draw from this.

Do you think Andrew Luck will have a better NFL career if he wins or loses the Heisman this year?

Think about all the Heisman runner-ups that have excelled in the NFL possibly b/c of a proverbial chip on their shoulder before you answer:

John Elway 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] 1982 (Herschel Walker 1[SUP]st[/SUP])
Steve Young 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] 1983 (Mike Rozier 1[SUP]st[/SUP])
Troy Aikman 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] 1988 (Barry Sanders 1[SUP]st[/SUP])
Payton Manning 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] 1997 (Charles Woodson 1[SUP]st[/SUP])
Michael Vick 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] 1999 (Ron Dayne 1[SUP]st[/SUP])
Drew Brees 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] 2000 (Chris Weinke 1[SUP]st[/SUP])
Eli Manning 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] 2003 (Jason White 1[SUP]st[/SUP])

Now look at some of the Heisman winners that have been NFL busts:

Gino Torretta (1992; Marshall Faulk 2[SUP]nd[/SUP])
Danny Wuerffel (1996)
Chris Weinke (2000; Drew Brees 3[SUP]rd[/SUP])
Eric Crouch (2001; Rex Grossman 2nd)=both busts!
Carson Palmer (2002; Larry Johnson 3[SUP]rd[/SUP])
Jason White (2003; Larry Fitzgerald 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and Eli Manning 3[SUP]rd[/SUP])
Matt Leinart (2004; Adrian Peterson 2[SUP]nd[/SUP])
Troy Smith (2006; Darren McFadden 2[SUP]nd[/SUP])
Tim Tebow (2007; Darren McFadden 2[SUP]nd[/SUP])

Although it is still too early to tell, Cam Newton has seemingly handled the pressures of being both a Heisman winner and #1 overall pick. Can Luck do the same? Or, would you prefer that he come to Miami with that "chip" on his shoulder?

Not fair to call Carson Palmer a bust.
