I wonder what the huddled masses will have to say negative about him. Will he all of a sudden be washed up, will he be a greedy bastard or will he be like Fisher is viewed as a user of the phins. I just hope peope can be consistent. If peyton signs here it will be all about Peyton, it wont be because Ross is a good or bad owner because in the end it will probably come own to money. I hope ireland or the coaches dont get blamed because I dont see themaffecting his decision that much. He will probably look at how he fits, how close they are and what are they paying. I just hope we dont get the typical sour grapes we usually get when someone decides the dolphin are not best for him.

I do know people will already assume we are superbowl read which I think is premature if he signs with us but whether I agree or not I hope they are right.

If he doesn't sign with us, I won't be upset. If he does, I won't be overjoyed. It's a high risk, high reward move.

If we miss out on Manning and decide not to get Flynn then that would realllllyyyyyy suck. Ill be pissed of big time. But if we dont get Manning and get Flynn then I think it wouldnt be as bad. While you wont be getting one of the best QBs in the history of the NFL, you get a QB that has been groomed and taught the right way for 4 years and is ready to play.

Why do you always feel it necessary to harp on the fanbase no matter what they feel about this team? Look, if we don't get Manning, so be it. Then we move on simple as that. No hard feelings towards Manning at least from my end if he doesn't sign with us. He's earned the right to make his own decision without recourse from even the most casual NFL fans I believe. There are plenty of other options to address the immediate QB situation for next season (draft, trades, free agency). Ross and Ireland know that...or they SHOULD because their necks are on the line if they don't get it (the QB mess) figured out soon.

*sigh* in polls when it looked like we might get Fisher, 80% of us "huddled masses" either wanted no part of him, would be relieved if he went to the Rams or at best, were apathetic cause there could always be worse (although we sure didn't end up with that). So the "huddled masses" who were calling him out as a mediocre coach winning 6 of 17 seasons with an archaic ground and pound offensive philosophy, if anything, weren't shy when our opinions were confirmed by Fisher's first major hiring and how the 2nd one blew up because he didn't think to question why NO was so anxious to offload Williams or vet him in any other way. And it was "shame on Ross" for letting Fisher, his agent and his agent's son manipulate both him and Kroenke to wring more money and total control out of the Rams, so the criticism of him as a control freak was validated too. Just more consistency there.

If Peyton goes elswhere it will be met with regret; if by the remote chance he ends up with the Jest, it's junk you should watch backtrack and re-paint what "he didn't say" like he's been doing with Sparano. Peyton was respected as one of the greatest Qb of all time on this board when it appeared he'd be retiring with the Colts. Now, there's no denying that if he does go elsewhere and gets reinjured or otherwise incapacitated, we'd be breathing the same sigh of relief that we dodged a major bullet like we did with Fisher. But that's human nature :idk:

You have no clue that Flynn is ready to play. He sat on the bench for years and played in 2 games. That hardly means he is going to be the QB saviour if they miss/pass on Manning. Getting sick of all the if not Manning then Flynn talk. Both are risks as is RG3, Tannenhill, Weeden, even Luck. Granted you take the chance with Luck/RG3 if you don't hemmorage the draft.

If Manning doesn't come here, I have faith in Philbin, Sherman and Ireland's plan to find a young QB (Flynn, Tannehill) and will feel bad if he goes and leads the Jets to success, but not if he goes anywhere else. He can only play at a high level for 2 or 3 years, unless he is Favre. If we get him, great, but what are doing about the position long term? Still draft Tannehill?

If he goes to jets it will be a miracle with their cap and prob a huge mistake for them because it would prob cripple them from any other signing.

My comment is basically there because many on this board spin with the wind. Many on this board jumped on the how good a hire McCoy was when it seemed he would be the choice only to then take the first chance to criticize him and put him down when he wasnt hired.

I threw a small party when I found out we weren't going to be stuck with Fisher.
