In the many discussions on this board and around the nation about the Dolphins QB delima, what I have not seen addressed is this. If Sage Rosenfels can not be used in this situation, where there is nothing to lose by a change at his position, then why is he on the roster? He has been on the team, practiced and understudied for years now, when would you give him a shot? I would have to think that if the decision has already been made that Sage would not play under any circumstances, then he needs to go at the end of this year with Gus. Clean out the cupboard and start fresh.

Why indeed Tim1958. I don't understand Saban not making a better effort in securing at least a decent back-up qb.

We have a decent backup....his name is Gus.

The bottom line on Sage is this: he did not get a chance with the previous regime, but he did get promoted with this regime. There are only three ways Sage see the field this year (IMO)

1) Gus gets injured
2) we are eliminated from the playoffs
3) Gus starts throwing picks for TDs

until one of those three things happens, the coaching staff would be committing suicide by putting Sage in.

Well perhaps you've answered your own question, maybe Saban has already seen (or not seen) what he needs to see from Sage.

But, this weekend there actually is something to lose, we still have a shot to steal this division, a win puts us in first place.

This team may not have been able to beat Atlanta but it may be good enough to take this division.

We will, give Saban time. Rosenfels stinks! No better than Gus. He isn't goign to play or get a shot most likely. After this year we will address the QB position

You keep a guy like Sage because he's a humble, classy 3rd stringer with a minimal salary. You can't expect to have 3 starting-caliber quarterbacks on your roster. You talk about chemistry, how do you find that when you're just cutting players for the sake of cutting them? He is what he is; the Baltimore game at the end of last year depicts this.

Not trying to say "told you so," but over the summer, when some of us knew what we had in Gus Frerotte (not much), and not quite sure what we had in Feeley (who improved as the year progressed last year), we begged for Nick & Co. to overlook AJ's spotty summer and stick with him.

Feeley, with this line's improvement, would be a marked improvement over Gus. Perhaps that's just my opinion.

My guess is injury. Saban knows what he has in Sage and in his opinion it is something less than Gus. Good coaches don't subscribe to the fan theory that you don't know anything about a player until you put him in the game.

when we're playing MEANINGLESS games like 3 weeks from now
In this division there wont be a meaningless game untill week 16 or 17. With a win today we're in first or at least tied and from this point forward anything can happen! Don't write this team off just yet!:shakeno:

No way do I see AJ as an improvement, but that`s just my opinion too. Saban must`ve saw the same thing.

We are playing a game against NE for 1st place, and you want to put Sage in? Are you crazy...
