It seems that many believe Lazor would or should, but he is the shortest tenured coach on the team and his unit has been the one most responsible for losses. Even though Lazor talks a good game and looks the part, his performance on the job as OC has left a lot to be desired. I am not sure any of the coaches warrant the interim HC job to be honest.

Thoughts?

I think its too early to be talking about firing Philbin. We will likely head into the bye week at 2-2, which is where many people thought we would be at the bye. I'm no Philbin supporter, but we are only 3 games into the season and I think threads like this are premature.

My recollection is that you most certainly were a Philbin supporter. I suppose that has changed after the last showing, which is completely understandable. But if that loss and the performance from the last 2 games has shifted your beliefs on Philbin so dramatically, I'd say its rather appropriate to discuss his eventual dismissal at this point.

And we cannot say that 2-2 is a forgone conclusion. Even I, who was not a Philbin supporter, fell into the trap of believing we would be 3-1 at the Bye after the Bills loss. Even I didn't expect such a turdburger of a performance at home against the winless Chiefs. If they can lose like that to the Chiefs, all bets are off. A loss to the Raiders isn't outside of the realm of possibility now.

Don't think it matters, but I'd promote Kacy Rodgers if he's willing.

All things being equal after the past 2 performances, I'm not counting the Oakland game as a gimme, not with the extended travel to London. Yes the Raiders are AWFUL but I'll no longer underestimate this coaching staff's or team's capacity to derp their way through any game.

I'm not couting any more games this season as anything close to probable wins.

Oh, if we tank against the Raiders, Philbin needs to be fired on the South Florida tarmac ala Lane Kiffin. I'd have to say Lazor takes over because Coyle has been established as incompetent. Maybe Lazor isn't a complete idiot, maybe he is but we should find out.

I was in Philbin's corner up through the final 2 games of last year. I have been critical of him prior to this season, but I was still in his corner. Now a lot of fans are upset with Philbin after stringing together blowout losses, but I dont think its realistic to assume this guy is getting fired after 3 games, or even mid-season. I think he's good enough to make it to the end of the season before he gets fired, if he even gets fired.

Kacy Rodgers has the best track record with his unit's performance.

Lazor looks the part and talks a good game? Well that's more than we can say for Philbin so he's ahead there.

If Lazor had a year or 2 more experience at the position i would say he gets the interim shot. Although he hasn't impressed so far, I do think he would be able to motivate the team 10000000% better than Philbin (as could just about any human being). If he shows us something by the end of the season maybe (big maybe) you stick with Lazor going into next yr if no better coaches are out there. If not, clean house as we hopefully will be doing anyway. Unfortunately I don't think Lazor has quite enough experience to become a HC right now, but i'd much rather see him on the sidelines the second half of this season.

I like Philbin as a person, however he's a coach and not supposed to be liked. I have learned that the best leaders are a pain in the a$*. He has to push his players to be the best that they can be and hold them accountable. All those dropped passes all of the miscues. Unacceptable, these players make a lot of money and are expected to perform up to part. If not adios. We need to take the Jimmy Johnson approach, you don't put out your on the waiver wire looking of a job.
