then what QB do you guys want? i really want John Beck if quinn isnt there. he looks really good. we might be able to get him late 2 or early 3. If we couldnt get quinn then we could take brown and beef up the line and take WR like rice jarrett gonzolaz in the second.

My QB order...
quinn
beck
kolb
smith
stanton
edwards

i have edited this since many of you think beck isnt good or dont have an arm so check these out
http://youtube.com/watch?v=NCgH6sTEeP8 highlights
http://youtube.com/watch?v=dHBy7uIV_iE&mode=related&search= arm strength if only he had a WR
http://youtube.com/watch?v=4dflMnmCCZk&mode=related&search= under pressure with game on the line

he reminds me a a great QB in tom brady. even though brady plays for a crappy team you have to admit he is great. but he scrambles way better than tom brady and brady quinn, drew stanton, trent edwards, and kevin kolb. he is very intelligent and tough. he can take a hit. he will put on a little more size when he gets to the NFL. the only reason he isnt higher on draft boareds is c=uz of the school he went to, BYU. if no ND for quinn he wouldnt be up there.

but Beck can't throw long or even deep outs, reminds me of Fiedler.

I had heard the same thing, but when I stopped & watched his highlights video his passes were everything you'd want them to be. He launched one of them from his own 45 to the opponent's end zone. Now if there is another video going around where half of the time he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, I will have to defer because I haven't seen that one.

That's just not true mate. Beck can throw it on a rope. He can throw it 60/70 yards in the air. This arm strength thing, or lackthereof, is baffling.

beat me to it, I will try to find the video of him launching it about 70 yards or so.

I wouldn't mind Beck, but the fact that his throwing motion will probably have to be changed worries me. Who knows how far he will be able to throw when his motion is altered?
I still like him more than Edwards and Smith, but just hope he can adapt well.

Guys I'm definitely not a pro evaulator so feel free to correct me.

1. Quinn
2. Russell
3. Beck
4. Stanton
5. Edwards

If Quinn were not available I would take Stanton, Edwards, or Kolb on the first day.

People keep saying "If Quinn were not available then take Beck." What if our FO has already determined that Beck can be the QB to lead us to the Super Bowl? Then we could take BPA at #9 or trade down for a few extra picks. There may be a few teams willing to trade up to our spot if the right player was still there.

why is arm strength always the first knock on the player?how often do you throw the ball 70 yards down field? as long as he has a decent arm and can make all the throws i don't care if he can throw 100 yd bombs on his knees.

I agree completely. Only time that comes into effect is hail marys at the end of the game. If a qb can make all of the throws in Cams offense then thats all we can ask for.
