If Reggie Bush & Lamar Miller got all the carries, and continued to avg 6 yds/carry

It's sad Ireland is such a horrid evaluator of draft talent for game-changing TE's and WR's (along with safeties, corners etc) that we can't make teams pay for loading up the box.

I've said it a hundred times. The top teams for combined YPA are the top teams in the league every year for the last 10++ years. It's not the running teams and the run stopping teams that win super bowls. It's the passing teams with QB's and pass catching weapons all over the place, and pass rushers + secondaries. It's a passing league.

running games are fine against crappy teams like a cross-country-on-a-short-week Raiders and the meh Jets (who are not good), but against the good teams, to win against playoff teams, they chunk-yardage your arse and score quick and you better be able to retaliate that way. Or else you're doomed. Just having a running game and a run-stopping defense with poor pass rush and poor secondary doesn't win anything of value these days

This isn't 1991

Teams need to be able to run and throw. A team that just throws the ball all over the yard, and can't salt the game at the end is not going to do much. If the Dolphins actually had a number one receiver, they would have won the game yesterday. Hartline is a number 2 at best, and Bess is a great slot receiver. The lack of the number one is the problem.

Clay needs to get off his @$$ and learn WTF he's supposed to be on every play...He's our seam buster, but he's never on the field...what we were missing in the 2nd half.

Yesterdays problem was more the D. It showed in OT when freaking sanchez was able to get the ball to Holmes to guarantee the easy FG. Ridiculous!

Course the pick 6 was not any help.

We weren't successful at all yesterday running the ball after the start of the third quarter because the defense was stacked against it and our passing game could do nothing to relieve the pressure.

We are not going to be averaging 6+YPC for the year...

Or it was, you know, the fact that our star RB was out of the game.

That to, but there really weren't running lanes either. The last hole that either back really had to run through was miller's third quarter one off the left side, other than that I have a pretty hard time imagining Reggie would have done more than add an extra yard or two here or there.

BINGO!!
This is what other teams are going to do to us
stack the box forcing our Rookie QB to make things happen/or not
