Do you think Saban would like to hire him as a defensive coach? Kind of like what he did with Jason Garrett. Thoughts please.

Well since Seau has already said that he is gunna play at least one more year even if its not in Miami. I am going to say no.

don't know if Seau would go straight into coaching right after retirement, but I could definitely see Junior as a DC, maybe even a HC one day...

Great players rarely become coaches they have enough money to kick back and relax for the rest of their lives, players that lasted 15 years on the league as backups usually become coaches, they never had the phisical talents to be stars but carried on by their football smarts learned a lot during their long tenures and never made enough money to retire that sort of players become coaches.

Well Seau did help Crowder alot in his rookie season and I think he should help coach players like Crowder learn the system. Seau has alot of experience at the linebacker position and could pass his knowledge on to the young players at linebacker.

I think Seau would make a great Linebackers coach... wether he has the knowledge and skill, or even the drive to be a DC or more I don't know. If I were Saban I'd keep him arround for another year because he is a classy guy, a leader in the locker room, and he is teaching our young guys how to be great LB's in the NFL. If you factor all that in, keeping Seau is a no brainer IMO.

id like to see Seau coaching from the sidelines in a wheelchair... good for him..

Say-oww lives in San Diego. I just can't imagine him taking a coaching position away from SD.

great players have a hard time coaching, I remember Shula saying Marino couldn't coach, because he can't relate to a QB that can't throw a 50 yard rope with a twitch release. LT couldn't coach guys to rush the passer the way he did because he had freakish talent. Junior can't coach a player to have his instincts or work ethic.

I would love to see Seau retire. He does not need to take up another season on Miami's roster. He should try to go back to San Diego for one season and retire as a Charger.

Whats the harm of bringing him back for one more year.......honestly??? Especially if he takes a pay cut for us.

He would be great grooming the young guys.

I don't Seau is a Fin next season. Why? Well, because he is making roughly $2 million next season(I think, not 100% sure) and he hasn't been able to stay healthy since the 2003 season. PLUS, we have young guys on the team that are playing better and shouldn't be held out of starting jobs. Crowder is better then Seau, and it will probably be easy to pick up a FA LB that is younger and will hold up better.

Seau will probably play in 2006, just not in Miami.

I agree 100%. What if Miami gets Greenway at #16? Crowder, Thomas and Greenway at LB with Spragan filling in. There would be no need at all for Seau.

I think Junior would make a great linebackers coach...but I think Zach would be a better one. Junior relies on his intensity and instincts to play the game, while zach is forced to study harder than everyone and understand the game better than anyone.
