Currently JT sits @ 106 sacks and has played 3 less years then Strahan I believe. Jason Taylor can pass the current record of 132.5 if he can manage 10 sacks in 3 more years. This would be great as a career stat for him and for pride in our defense. I am really rooting we improve so he does not retire.

Jason Taylor All Time Sack Leader in NFL. (I see it coming fellas) :D

That is not the sack record. The record is 200 by Bruce Smith.

OOOPS! Well in that case, will he pass Strahan?

Strahan is the active sack leader at 132.5 not the career leader.

Strahan holds the record for sacks in a season with 22.

is Strahan 2nd?

No, he's tied for 7th.

The Top 10
01. Bruce Smith - 200
02. Reggie White - 198
03. Kevin Greene - 157
04. Chris Doleman - 150.5
05. John Randle - 137.5
05. Richard Dent - 137.5
07. Lawrence Taylor - 132.5
07. Leslie O'Neal - 132.5
07. Michael Strahan - 132.5
10. Rickey Jackson - 128

JT needs 23 to beat MS record of most sacks IN A SEASON. The 132.5 isnt a career sack record. That sack record was broken by Bruce Smith with 200 sacks. IMO it would take a miracle for JT to break either one of those. If I had to chose one I would choose Strahans record of 22.5

I agree JT will probably not break Strahan's career record but it's extremely possible for him to break his single season record... especially with JP helping to pull coverage away from him this year.

I realized I messed up but lets change it to Will JT pass Strahan in sacks? :)

If Jason averages about 10 sacks per season for the next 3 years, which is not out his abilities, then yes he should pass Strahan for 7th on the career sack list and possibly 5th or 6th on the all-time list.

You think? He needs 94 more sacks. Right now he averages 10.6 sacks per season. He would have to play for 9.5 more seasons at that average although JP will help. Maybe with the help he could get that number up to about 18 sacks a season, then he would only have to play for 5 more seasons to reach that number.

I don't think he means Bruce Smith's record. That won't be touched for a while.

thats what I thought you meant. It would be great to beat Strahans record, actually it would be great to destroy it and with JT i think it could happen, possibly, I loved how Favre gave him that record too. Very classy IMHO
