If Tennessee Takes Mendoza, Would You ... ?

This might be a good strategy. With the demise of the Penny, the Nickels demand is gonna go up and therefore a Nickle might actually increase in value by a few cents! 🤣
Exactly, still don’t know what you’re getting but your chances increase greatly. Just look at the throws Josh Allen can make against the wind. And how Herbert can escape the pocket and drive the ball downfield while doing so

No.

Still gun shy and scarred from when Grier tried doing something similar with Josh Rosen and Arizona. Believe we traded a 2nd and 5th.

I think Cam is more talented than Rosen, but no I would still use our own lottery tickets in the draft.

The hope being we have much better talent evaluators in the building next year.

Id trade Tua for a sock full of nickles.... actually keep the nickles,id trade him for a sock. Dont even need a pair of socks, just one sock.

What’s your point, exactly? LOL!

Cam Ward is a really difficult eval because he was drafted into the worst possible situation. Joke of a coaching staff and the roster is easily the worst in football.

I don’t think the Titans move on from him so quickly…… he was drafted by a rookie GM who is keeping his job after the season. I think the #1 pick is up for sale to the highest bidder if the Titans do indeed finish the season at that slot. That would give the Jets the inside track IF they’re interested because with 5 first rounders in 26 and 27 they cannot be outbid.

Titans should continue to lose and land a treasure chest of assets by trading down. Moving down from 1 to 5-10 can still land them a highly impactful player — one of the top defensive prospects in the draft or Jordyn Tyson/Carnell Tate. And if Cam Ward doesn’t improve with a better roster and competent coaching in year 2, then they’ll be set up for take another shot in a better QB class in 27 headlined by Sayin and Arch.

The Dolphins trading their 2026 second-round draft selection for the guy, who could back up Tua for that season, I wouldn't oppose that arrangement, however it's quite unlikely to occur.

Interesting conversation. Remember the last time this situation occured. The Cards drafted Josh Rosen in the 1st, had a horrible year and fired everyone. The new regime drafted Murray #1 and traded Rosen to a stupid team for a mid second during that same draft. Oh yea, that was us.

Trade a 2nd for Cam Ward?

..in a similar Chicago scenario bailing on Justin Fields in favor of Caleb Williams??

I would try very hard to trade up with Titans to get Mendoza...The more I see of him, the more I like.

The Ohio st vs Indiana game will either make me even more crazy to get Mendoza, or bring me down to earth about getting him at all cost.

If Mendoza plays well against OSU that certainly keeps his stock high but if he doesn’t it won’t bother me at all. Matt Patrica against most college QB’s an OC’s just isn’t a fair fight.

Well the Jets fell to 7th with that 56 yard game winning FG by Nick Folk yesterday, against the Falcons.

That was costly.

With games against the Dolphins and Saints the next three weeks, the Jets could fall out of the top 10 altogether with just one more W. They have a game against JAX sandwiched in between there before ending the season with the Pats and Bills.

Would love to see them beat Buffalo week 18, in a meaningless game, with the Bills starters all out because they’ve locked up a WC spot already.

If anyone is trading up, the Browns make the most sense having Jacksonville’s first (currently 26th) or the Raiders, who are currently slotted 4th (one pick ahead of Cleveland).

If I’m Tennessee I’m much more interested in Las Vegas’s 2027 first then I am Cleveland’s 26th pick, but the Titans FO can’t afford to wait around on that return as they might not be employed by the team when it comes time to use that pick.

A couple sides notes, a few more losses by the Falcons could see the Rams in the top 5. Crazy. Also, the Titans and Browns play each other this week, that will be interesting.

Lastly, the Dolphins are the only 5 win team in the league right now. With a SOS of .488, we would win a tie breaker with every team around us. The only team that could beat us in the tie breaker department is Dallas, and considering they have a tie on their record already, a tie breaker (ironically) scenario is irrelevant.

Bengals at Bills, Commanders at Vikings and Seahawks at Falcons this week, are the games of interest to us. Bengals, Vikings, Falcons (Rams) are the 3 teams with 4 wins, picking 9th, 10th and 11th, ahead of our 12th pick

Let’s go Bengals.

I would say no. Reminds me of Josh Rosen at this point. People will say the value is there but Cam Ward looking like a lost cause. Last year was a weak class and he got overdrafted, but there probably won't be any decent QBs coming out of last years class.

'On paper,' to use that 1970s NFL expression, the Vikings have the best shot of the three at winning this weekend, they should be slight favorites vs. the Commanders.

The Bills have been inconsistent this year, I could envision the Bengals upsetting them if Joe Burrow performs well, however the Seahawks might be the NFC's best team.
