The play vs. houston that Ronnie couldn't complete?

Funny how we would have been talking about how great Daunte's mobility was to make plays in the passing game to lead the team back from a 11pt. deficit if the team had converted that 2 pt. play and won the game. Who knows what would have happened vs. NE, but one play may be the difference in Culpepper the starter vs. Culpepper who'll never play in this league again as some are claiming.

hes injured probably would of sat out regardless

Didn't I read somewhere that the reason that idiotic play was called, was because Saban wanted a roll-out type play but didn't trust Culpepper's mobility enough? I think that's your answer right there.

How is it that you can call that play idiotic when the receiver CLEARLY would have caught it had he not slipped and lost traction? (which seems to be an every week occurence for our Fins)

Everyone thinks Saban is being condescending when he answers questions about that 2-point play with "if it would have worked, it would have been a great play", but it really is true.

As for Daunte, I believe that Saban would have made the move regardless. He and the rest of the staff were beginning to see the weaknesses in Daunte's game due to the injury and our suspect O-line was accentuating it every game.

As for the O-line's turnaround against NE, I think it was more due to the fact that Harrington was in there and he is viewed as not a great ad-libber like C-pep when healthy, so they made a conscious effort to protect him better, while the OC called more short drops and quick passes.
