What OT would you like too see them take with their first pick of the second round? Carl Nicks of Nebraska? Sam Baker of USC? Godser Cherilus of Boston College? Take your pick and explain why you think they could be a good LT for the Dolphins. This should be some interesting dialogue!

I don't think you can count on Jeff Otah, Chris Williams, Ryan Clady or Branden Albert making it to pick #32. However, if any of them do make it there, your choice gets a lot easier.

The real question at #32 is Anthony Collins or Gosder Cherilus. That's a real tough one because Cherilus has a lot more experience playing at a high level, but more so on the right side. He struggled on the left side, so in the pros you probably want to move him to the right side. Collins is a little less proven but his play suggests left side. If you're risk averse, the pick is probably Cherilus.

Down a bit further, that is where I believe Sam Baker comes most into play. I like Carl Nicks but he's got character issues draped all over him. Baker's size wasn't as bad as I was expecting, and his position in the NFL could very well be LT...another Matt Light.

I think our choice will be easy because I don't think that 4 Tackles and 1 Guard will all be taken in the first round. I think one of those dudes will slip to us at #32.

Good to see you back. Baker, Cherilus, or Collins. Although I want JLong, logic seems to dictate OT at #32. ESPN (I think John Clayton) said that Cherilus is a strong possibility and natural fit for San Fran at the bottom of rd. 1, allowing them to move Joe Staley to LT. Makes sense to me. Leaving us with Collins and Baker- tough call, but I'm leaning towards Baker. I wouldn't mind taking John Carlson, Carl Nicks, or Justin King at #57. Then maybe another DB, ILB Jonathan Goff, or Heath Benedict in the 3rd.

For what it's worth, I really like Cherilus' feet.

I think there could even be five tackles and one guard taken in the first round. Pittsburgh's GM didn't call this the best OT draft he's seen in 24 years for nothing.

i would like carl nicks nebraska. i think we will end up with jake long or chris long. if we get jake long #1 overall here are some possibilities @ #32:
James Hardy WR
Dan Conner LB (could play ILB or OLB)
Antoine Cason CB
Aquib Talib CB
Kentwan Balmer DT/DE
Quentin Groves DE/OLB

no kidding. i am thinking the same thing. as soon as the 2nd OT goes in the draft, you will see a couple more following almost immidiately. Thats why im really hoping we can get Jake long. We can get a quality DE with the #32 or with the 2nd pick in the 2nd round

This may be the stongest OT draft ever, but I just don't see 6 teams devoting their first rounder on the OL.

Obviously, we both hope I'm right.

I like your list. I don't know that I'd put Kentwan Balmer up that high, and I wouldn't quite put Cason in the same company as Hardy, Connor, and Groves...but I like where you're heading with those three.

My wish list consists mostly of guys that have around the same grade that we most likely will NOT get a crack at.

That wish list includes Jeff Otah, Chris Williams, Branden Albert, Dan Connor, James Hardy, Quentin Groves, Brian Brohm, Leodis McKelvin, Mike Jenkins, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and Kenny Phillips.

I have those guys in the same neighborhood as each other...and individually I don't see any of them falling to #32 but from a pure numbers standpoint one of them probably will.

I agree I think there is better than a 50-50 chance that 6 OL will be drafted in the first round Long, Clady, Otah, Williams, Albert and Cherlis. Then I think there is a huge drop off. Baker seems to be a better fit in a zone blocking scheme like Denver or Texas not a power running team and Collins has had some marginal workouts. Not only was his 40 very slow for a LT, his 10yrd split was below average and his SS and 3 cone were very weak. He looks like a G more than likely with a possibility at RT but he is going to take a year or two before he is ready to be a starter. Chilo Rachel is probably the next rated lineman on most boards and while he has some nice size he has never played on the left side of the line and his lateral movement does not suggest that he can play OT. The next group of OL would include guys like Greco, McGlynn, Benedict, and Young. Greco and McGlynn can play ORT but are probably better suited for OG. Benedict looks like a good fit at ORT if he wants it bad enough ( which is a concern ) and Young is a Travell Wharton OG/OT combo that can fill in.

I have been a Chris Long guy for a couple of months now but the more that I look at it Jake Long might make more sense.

CK, do you think there may be a run on the OT so that there won't be a good one available at 32? Would need cause us to deviate away from Best Player Available if that happened and we hadn't gone Jake Long at #1?

I don't see it as a run on OTs so much as there are really about 7 OLs that I see grading as first round picks. There's also a lot of old blood out there at OT that needs some replacing. Jon Ogden told the Ravens to assume he's retired. Orlando Pace is a question mark at his age and coming off this injury. Walter Jones will start to be a question mark soon. Tra Thomas ain't gettin any younger. Among premium RTs, Jon Jansen has now taken a couple of very serious injuries, and Willie Anderson is old as dirt with injury problems to boot. Minnesota is having second thoughts on Bryant McKinnie in the wake of this latest legal run-in. New England's OL proved to be the weak link that lost them the Super Bowl. The Jets need a RT and are disappointed in D'Brick. The Chiefs are desperate for an OT. The 49ers could use one as well. The Bears have recently shown an interest in the OT class, perhaps looking to get a LT and put Tait back at RT.

I see no shortage of teams that need tackles, and I see six premium quality OTs, and a seventh guy that is a premium OG.

This draft is extremely heavy on OTs, CBs and RBs. I see the OTs and CBs going early, and the RBs falling. So the real question is...what happens when we're presented premium value at RB at picks #57 and #64?

I see Jonathan Stewart, Darren McFadden, and Rashard Mendenhall all carrying top 15 type grades. After that, you still have guys like Jamaal Charles, Felix Jones, Kevin Smith, Chris Johnson and Ray Rice that all carry high grades, bottom of the first round to second round. I mean, what do you do if a guy like Chris Johnson is available at #57 overall? He could be the fastest man in the NFL not named Ted Ginn Jr! And for those that have seen him run, he's not JUST a speed demon by any means. What do you do if Ray Rice is sitting there available to you at #64 overall?
