if the Dolphins lose to the Jets next week...

That would be such a cool story if it were true.

Lamar Miller scored........one touchdown in Dan Campbell's first game. Nice memory you have.

And they were 5-7 under Campbell.

And the first year under Adam Gase the Dolphins were 10-6 and went to the playoffs.

It's fine to have issues with the organization -- there have been a ton -- but revisionism does nothing to make your point.

Truer words have never been spoken!

First off, YOU try functioning with my brain.

Second, right you are. In fact, with research as I sit on the toilet avoiding my family, the game I am remembering was Campbell's Second game as interim. It was against the Texans. Miller it turns out had 2 TDs. They scored 6TDs in the first half. I was driving back from a soccer tournament with my kids, stuck somewhere between Orlando and Miami. I was able to get the game, but only in Spanish. So I kept hearing "BLAH BLAH BLAH touchdown Lamar Miller" and it seemed like he had 4, but I was wrong.

To punish myself, I'll watch the next Dolphins game.

Regards

Only if you hand it to me on a silver platter. - LOL

Dan Campbell was once our coach. It was awesome. The listless team that lived under Philbin became a hungry group of murderers in 1 week. Lamar Miller got 4 TDs. It was amazing. So they hired Adam Gase. And then Jay Cutler was our QB. Steve Ross has to go. Owner has final say. Let's all pool together our savings and buy him out. I've got $200 and and old set of ttack wheels for a mustang that I can't seem to sell.
lol, it was cool for a week or two and then we started losing again.

The team doesn't seem that bothered by losing either. Although, maybe that's just my perception.

I feel they were bothered.

A lot of their penalties could have been due to having been "over-sensitized", during what little training we had prior to this game, causing "premature" movements at the LOS - along with other positions. - LOL

You could say that - and you'd be RIGHT. - LOL
I'd call our play a collapse with a partial recovery.

When I look at Tua's and the teams' stats for the game, I conclude this loss is due to a poor game plan and way too many penalties and the responsibility for those lies directly, or indirectly with the HC and his coaching staff.

Things like not being able to handle the ball well in the cold could just be "that's the way things go", or it is more likely lack of preparation for handling "cold balls" (stop smirking VAARK).

All that would have been required is a cooler, or five, full of dry ice and loaded with footballs for use in practice. Attention would need to be paid to the pressure in the ball after exposure to prolonged cold, ask Brady - LOL

As for our tackling - did the coaching forget to tell the players that wrapping up an opponent when tackling would warm them up? - LOL
Hard to watch at this point in the season. I know Thursday's tough on traveling teams, but if you don't show up does that count?

We curb stomped Tennessee and then Houston 82-something a lot less than 82 in back to back weeks. Toughened a bunch of pussies up and quick. I went to the game that year when we finally beat Baltimore in a slug fest at 19-17. The hitting on both sides of the ball was ferocious. For once we weren’t getting bullied. Some of us saw the raw leadership qualities in the man yet others suggested he was “too limited” - like tough guy can’t be smart kinda thing. Apparently the FO agreed and hired a nerd who lost the locker room in year 2. Ross is an idiot at football.

I've been critical of both McDaniel and Grier. Even on the firing squad bandwagon after that horrendous, lackluster 2-6 start.

But, hear me out. McDaniel deserves time to grow as a coach. We've actually seen that. The adjustments have been slow at times, but he's made some necessary changes.

Miami has played pretty well recently, but...

The next change might be the hardest to implement. It's clear that Miami isn't physical enough. That begins with bringing in physical talent (Grier and scouts). But it also extends to practicing physical football.

The missed tackles, penalties, injuries all likely come down to how the team practices. Reporters have called Miami soft. We're hearing that from announcers. Even from fans who have attended practices.

You simply aren't going to beat the big boys by being the fastest team in football. You've got to be physical.

It's not the cold weather. It's the lack of physicality that's holding the Dolphins back. Can McDaniel bring that to practices?
I don’t know, man. Can he evolve as much as he needs to? That’s a big ask. His entire approach and philosophy has been speed / skill > physicality / fundamentals.

How's this: "As useless as teats on a Bullfrog". - LOL
But would you motorboat?

The only thing that has Happened the last few weeks is a bunch of homer fans were hood winked again and we destroyed our draft position.

We have an incompetent front office and the biggest moron in the league as our head coach.

This team is going nowhere fast.

They both need to be fired. It's not one before the other or one more than the other, they both need to be fired and we need a real staff.

Now that Eberfluff is out, you may be right.

Plenty of jock sniffing of Campbell on this forum. The guy is a great motivator, but it didn't seem to matter too much when he won 3 games in his first season in Detroit. After 2 years of player acquisition and development, they are humming along. Their GM seems to definitely be a can't-miss candidate.

It will be interesting to see if Campbell's star is still shiny after Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn most likely leave after this season for head coaching jobs of their own. Does Campbell still show he has the goods without them? Or does his career follow a similar trajectory as Mike Ditka as a head coach? Tremendous success early with Buddy Ryan as his DC, but then a steady drop off to mediocrity after his ace DC left for a head coaching job of his own.
