If the Fins had beaten the Jags, Miami would be in a 5-way tie for the second Wild Card spot right now. The race for the playoffs would have looked like this...

Fins 7-6
Jax 7-6
NYJ 7-6
KC 7-6
Denver 7-6

And Cincy would be the sole front-runner right now at 8-5.

The reason I mention this is because of several threads from a few weeks ago where several fans on this site said the Fins didn't have a chance to make the playoffs (even if they won out).

I'm not going to mention any names, but you know who you are.

The fact is IF the Fins had won out, it looks like we would have made the playoffs. Oh, what could have been..........

If we would have beaten Houston we would be as well. What ifs will just make us miserable.

True. But now we need Jax and Cincy to lose all three of their remaining games. Not impossible. But not likely, either.

If comets hit every stadium accept ours this week, Miami would be playing the Patriots in the super bowl.

Get over it?

Well, I wasn't going to mention any names, but...

You were wrong, rvicious.

It's about time you face it, IF we make it and that a very big IF we'll be lucky but tha chances are slim to say the least. I said it from the start all these scenarios of having all these other teams losing were absurd and that is just what is happening.

Absurd? There ain't nothing absurd about 5 teams tied for a Wild Card spot. You were wrong.

You know what was absurd? Posting that it was unlikely the Fins make the playoffs if they had won out. That was absurd.

Yeah, playing the What If game leads to a major headache for us Fin Fans. We should have beaten: Pittsburgh, Houston, Buffalo, Green Bay the Jets, and the Jags. That puts us at 12-1.

And Michael Wilbon just said it on PTI, "If Nick Saban had picked the right quarterback to start the season, they'd be in the lead of their division."

And the man's right.

Replace QB with O-line and the argument would be more valid imo.

We should've beaten the Bills, Texans, Pats, Jets, and the Packers. Very sad indeed.

I'm past that. We made so many changes and adjustments since those games...

But by the time we played the Jags, we were rolling. It's just disappointment upon disappointment is all.

On the plus side, though, our future looks bright. I'm looking forward to more wins this season, some key free agent pick-ups, another great draft, and a healthy Culpepper.

I'd like to say I'm also looking forward to the return of Ricky Williams, but I'm not counting on him until he's actually on the field for our season opener next year.

Let's wait until Drew Brees actually wins a playoff game before we annoint him the savior of our season.
