First off, I know I got some of you with the trade tag. It was a dick move but I had to do it.

But in all seriousness if we're making a trade with the Bucs I don't want it to be for a broken down RB who can't pass block. I want it to be for an impact player and that's VJax.

I know he has a high salary but I believe we have some carryover for next year or you could possibly redo his deal after this season. Lord knows we will gain some cap space by releasing Ellerbe and I know we have to resign Odrick, Pouncey and maybe Delmas... but dammit I'm tired of this team not making a run for it.

Jackson has the ability to put this offense over the top with his red zone/jumpball capabilities. You trade for VJax and you give Lazor and Tannehill everything they need to become an elite offense.

Christ, Philbin and probably Hickey are only going to have by the end of next year to prove to Ross they can turn this thing around so why not go all in? As a head coach and GM this is the perfect time to go all in. Your young QB, who you still hope is a franchise QB, is still extremely cheap. In three years if everything comes to fruition, he sure as hell won't be. This in turn limits the amount you can spend on other important positions on the roster. So make a move now while you still have the roster flexibility to do so. Let the next guy clean up your mess by releasing all of the high priced older players and go out guns a blazing.

This would be the deal I would be trying to make if I was Hickey. Hartline or Gibson and a 4th maybe even a third for VJax.

...end Madden rant

Martin is not broken down. unfortunate shoulder injury last year that is not serious now. some tweaks here and there, but I think he's just not a Lovie Smith guy. The kid is only 25 and can learn how to pass block better. I would get him for his untapped potential....5th or 6th Rd pick would be fine with me.

We badly need a big bodied target but there are a lot of reasons why it's a total pipe-dream.

We'll draft somebody in the 1st or 2nd round next year.

Package any combination of our WRs (Landry and Wallace untouchable) + draft picks I don't care. Make it happen Hickey, pull some strings! Work those TB connections, Hickster!

I agree. I would trade a 2nd if we got there 4th round pick and Doug Martin and we gave up Hartline and Gibson

Guys, no one is going to trade for Brian Hartline or Brandon Gibson.

Gibson is hurt and has been pretty much useless this season.

Hartline is grossly overpaid. Nobody is going to trade to get them.

Love that but meh. My idea what to let go of hartline ( <\3 he isn't really the hartline he used to be) let Gibson, Landry, Matthews play more. Idk. This seems to expensive IMO.

Wow no offense but I'm glad you aren't the GM. Right now he's the 64th rated WR in the NFL, has an enormous contract and he's already into his 30's.

This year Jackson has 63 targets and only 26 receptions for a 41.3 catch %. To put that in perspective, Hartline has 20 catches on 35 targets for a 57.1 catch %.

Jackson has 2 TDs and 5 drops. Hartline has 1 TD and 4 drops.

Jackson has a long of 34. Hartline has a long of 35.

So yeah I'd be all for trading for Jackson hoping that he's still got the skills, but he's not the same WR he used to be. Yesterday I was saying Hartline and a 1st but the more I look into Jackson the past 2 years the more I realize that he's not the same player anymore and with that contract he's not worth a 1st. I'd give them Hartline simply to help our cap situation and to give them a replacement WR and I'd throw them a 2nd or a 3rd but that's it and really he's not worth any more than that.

Gibson isn't hurt. He was a healthy scratch 2 weeks ago and he played on Sunday (wasn't on injury report) and looked fine in the game. He's just buried on the depth chart.

Rated by PFF?

Anyways, Jackson still is better than Hartline ever will be.

Well the thing with V-Jax is that they are going to get rid of him either way, so you might be able to get him for a 4th round pick or something.

I certainly wouldn't trade a 1st or 2nd for a 32 year old player who has bruised ribs.

Is "Rated by PFF?" supposed to mean something?

If you can find another metric that measures WRs output then I'd like to hear it. But those are basic stats and he's been worse than Hartline this year in those basic stats.

I would love it. So would VJax, not much a move for him and his family, just a couple hours south. And Hickey has ties into the organization, so this might be plausible. Obviously I feel like a trade for Hamster is far more probable, but I'm a Miller fan and would much rather see us dump Hartline and grab VJax.

Jeez that would be freakin' sweet, it would be like having Marshall back without the insanity.

Hartline for V Jax would be nice , we don't have a WR like him . They guy and position that I think we should trade for is a Lavonte David or Vikes Chad Greenway. It is LB that we should be looking for not RB or WR.

Just wanted to mention that I do agree Jackson is better than Hartline will ever be. But needed to point out that he's had a big drop off in production this year.
