Just read a poll posted on the Washington Post. It has Gase leading C.O.T.Y. , getting 61%, with Jack Del Rio second with 33%. I think the perception is, Gase is doing more with less. I was very skeptical after 1-4, but he has won me over. The Raiders seem to have more talent. Gase seems to be maximizing player ability, putting them in position to suceed. Hope it continues!

I'm all for Gase receiving all the accolades he so richly deserves - but I'd think Jason Garrett, despite the team being loaded, still winning with a rookie QB has to be right up there also.

Good point. Can't keep those Princeton Boy's down. :)

That surprises the hell out of me. He should have consideration yes but Garrett will be the winner.

Season ends today, Garrett is CLEARLY the winner. You don't go 11-1 in this league very often, and you certainly don't hear about teams going 11-1 with a ROOKIE at QB.

There was a thread about this last week. Garrett will win it and he deserve it if anything for putting up with Jerry Jones who believes he invented football

Ozzy rules!!

Right now Gase would finish 3rd in the coach of the year voting behind Jason Garrett and Jack Del Rio.

They would not give it to Gase, even though he should be right up there in the discussion for it.

Notice one thing in common with those two coaches and their wins- good OL play.

Like the other three threads about coach of the year, Garrett will get it. If the Cowboys weren't doing so well then I would say Gase but no way Garrett doesn't get it.

Garrett and Del Rio ahead at this point

We made the playoffs...........So yes he wins coach of the year....

If you can make this mess make playoffs without a qb......yes........Coach of the year.

Jason Garrett is a lock guys stop dreaming

I think so. If the season ended today, Miami would be the 6th seed in the playoffs. I haven't looked it up, but I don't think too many teams that started 1-4 have made the playoffs. Maybe a handful at best.

More importantly, Gase has changed the culture in Miami and that is hard to do. He has to be a strong candidate.
