Broncos | Lelie mentioned as part of three-team trade
Fri, 9 Jun 2006 12:37:43 -0700
John Murphy, of Yahoo Sports, reports Denver Broncos WR Ashley Lelie has been mentioned as part of a potential three-team trade involving the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots, according to a league source. Lelie would go the Patriots while the Broncos would receive Falcons RB T.J. Duckett and Patriots TE Daniel Graham. The Falcons would receive draft choices from both teams. Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan has denied there is a trade in the works involving Lelie.

:fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire: Please Nooooooo.

I would throw a projectile if that happened.

On the other hand, I've heard Lelie's name mentioned with the Saints also in a 3 team trade involving Donte Stallworth, Donnie Edwards and Lelie.

So take that report with a grain of the 'ole salt.

I wouldn't put too much stock in that rumor. Ne is not going to give up Graham AND draft picks for Lelie. Lelie Wants out of denver because he wants to be #1 WR. Well if he came to NE he'd be #2 behind Branch and he won't get the ball thrown to him as much as he does in Denver because Brady spreads it out to all his receivers. I just don't see how Lelie would be happy here in NE. Besides all that Graham is to dam good a blocking TE to give up and Belichick knows it. This rumor sounds like quite a reach to me.

I would be all for it...Lelie is one of the laziest players in the NFL.....all he talks about is how he wants to be the #1 guy, and all he does is drop passes.

i would rather lelie go to the pats than the saints because the saints would pick up donnie edwards and that would tarnish any hope we had of getting donnie......even though i know the odds of us getting donnie edwards arnt that great im just saying.....lelie's decent but hes kinda like stephon marbury always declaring that hes the best, hes got talent but not as much talent as he thinks

I could care less if Lelie goes to the Pats. He isnt that great.

However, this may be the end for Deion Branch in New England. Apparently he is going to holdout... and the Pats may be doing this trade to prepare for that. I dont think they want to pay Branch the money, and I'm not sure if he will be on their roster by the start of the season.

I hope NE makes that trade

We can crown ourselves divison winners before the season if they do that

Holdouts never last.........name one holdout that wasn't eventually rectified? Branch will be given a new contract and all will be well before training camp.

Players hold out and get traded all the time...

Are you really afraid of a WR named Ashley Lelie??? I think he must have been named for soap opera star or something. Maybe he was named for Ashley Wilkes from Gone with the Wind -- now there's a classic wimp for ya! :D

Smartest thing you have ever said on here

Its so true...his name is ASHLEY and he has been a disappointment...there is a reason they need better WR's and that reason wasnt Rod Smith

If that happens, that will show you how dumb an organization the Falcons and Patriots have. The only team that comes out good is the Broncos.

Im not worried, I just hated seeing guys go to teams where they will do good. Stupid pats, and stupid bronhos
