Its obvious right? These past coaching regimes have been nothing more then egotism to the extreme, and hidden agendas. If Adam Gase truly is a no nonsense coach and just fixes the most logical and obious things on this team, then this team will compete and will be in most of the games to win. It always baffles me that us fans seem to realize the problems yet the coaching staff never addresses them. IDC that we are not coaches, but we as viewers clearly see what works and what doesn't. Makes you wonder how the other teams caught on to our schemes and weakness of players. As I said, If Adam Gase just coaches logically and with common sense, this team will go far.....but..

IS THAT A LOT TO ASK FOR??

Agree. I want playoffs. Dan Campbell fixed some captian Obvious things and went 5-7 without being able to do anything w the roster. Imagine what an offseason of preparation by some logical coaches will do - assuming they are logical.

The good news is that the coaches here have been so bad, that if a good coach actually took over this team we might make bigger strides than anyone could expect.

All the logic and common sense in the world can't overcome the total lack of talent this team has, especially on defense. You can make an argument that the defense needs six new starters. Wake, Grimes, and Vernon could all be gone.

so true. We've had some guys who really knew how to set a low bar. "let me begin by saying congratulations to (insert opponent) - they deserved to win".

I think we have too many holes to compete in one year

All I want is a staff that looks at the talent we have and works around it and puts guys into positions to succeed and looks at the teams we are playing and tries to exploit their weakness. Im so tired of running one scheme and one game plan and forcing players to fit into it and not adjusting to teams geared to stop it.

As long as Gase stays true to building his scheme around our players strengths and game planing around the team we are facing that week, then we should be far and away in better shape than the last three coaching regimes.

True, but is it bad to replace 6 starters on a lousy defense?

I do think the Fins will keep one of Vernon/Wake.

Agree. It is so frustrating for me to consistently "draft" better than Miami as well. I don't have half the knowledge that the scouts have, yet if I were making the picks the Dolphins would have so much talent that other teams would be envious. And, by the way, I'm not beating my own horn. A lot has been made of the coaching staff, but why can't the scouting department/GM make better selections.

Anyway, it is time to look forward. Carolina put together a couple of very good drafts and they look set up for a long ride among the best in the NFL. If Adam Gase is the right coach and the team brings in better talent at a more consistent pace then things can change in a hurry for the Dolphins as well.

So true. I think the offense makes a huge jump this year under Adam Gase. Not sure about the defense yet.

Grimes can't cover number one receivers. We need 3 corners and 2-3 LB's. We're going to have to put all our eggs in Jamar Taylor having a good contract year.

No...no it won't. You are blind to the fact that this team has VERY LITTLE TALENT...it isn't just about coaching.
