I am just at a loss as to why we would even think of dropping a high draft pick on Osi, although I would love to have him, and we have not torn the Eagles doors down trying to pry Jackson from them. We are stacked on the defensive line and very solid at LB but have no downfield threat at WR outside of Marshall. With all of the players that they have signed, they may not be able to give Jackson a contract anywhere close to what he deserves and he is THE impact player that the doctor ordered! I would gladly give a first for him and a fat contract because that move would put us into serious playoff/superbowl contention with just mediocre QB play! Yeah, put 8 or 9 in the box now and see what happens!

It would probably take more than a 1st to get him. Probably similar to what we gave up for Ricky if not more. Besides Asomugha, he's Philly's best player.

because one guy is trying to leave his team, the other just wants to get paid.

I imagine that you are right but I would not be found not trying. I would certainly dangle the trade possibility out there because you never know how ugly negotiations might get ( V. Jackson with Chargers last year and Mankins with Pats) and you never know who might get hurt and how the Eagles needs might change.

Were not considering Osi so lets end this discussion, the only report we had of us being interested was from somebody on here who said they had a "source". The Giants want a #2 and Osi wants a contract like the one johnson just got in carolina and thats just not happening! and if the report was true I think it would be insane for this front office to give away a 2nd round pick and give away a huge contract to a DE and not even address the QB position and the offense, that money should be used to add PLAYMAKERS ON OFFENSE, our defense is just fine! would I like to have Osi on our squad and have em play a stand up OLB in a 3-4, hell yea I would, but the idea of this even happening is reckless and irresponsible!

This is my point exactly! I don't think that we have any significant chance of landing DeSean, regardless of what we offer but he is one of the three biggest playmakers in the league. If we are serious about landing playmakers, then I think it only responsible that we float an offer...it doesn't cost anything and all they can say is "NO". However, if some other team, particularly the Jets or Pats, jump in and land DeSean when the contract negotiations go off the rails, I am going to come completely f***ing unglued that we were not first in line!

Yeah, yeah, I usually think your smartazz is funny! All the people on here getting all excited about the possibility of us signing every piece of trash that is cut from some other team and you want to give me a hard time for wanting to captialize on even a glimmer of hope for getting someone like DeSean? I know they don't want to trade him, who in the hell would? Especially heading into a SB run? However, if he is insistant about sitting out and it will detract from the team, you never know what may happen.
