If we don't get Quinn

In my opinion when scouting a QB the most important stats are games played and the touchdown to int ratio. The only other guy that is really impressive in those areas in this draft is Kevin Kolb. He played in 50 games as a starter and threw only four interceptions his senior year. With a career QB rating of 98 pecent you have to say that this guy is smart with the football. He has game experience and his numbers tell me he is intelligent and methodical. I am aching for Quinn. I hope we do something drasctic and move up to get him on the first day. If we don't , however, Kolb is my number one second choice :)

You cant just go by stats. David Klingler blew up the record books in college and was trash in the nfl.
 
TD to INT ratio and games played are important, but in my opinion there is so much more that goes into evaluating a quarterback. It's not so much about what they've done, as much as it's about what they'll be able to do at the next level. I have heard good things about Kolb, but I'm under the impression that he's in that third tier of quarterbacks, a level below guys like Edwards, Stanton, and Beck. I could be wrong.
 
You have to take everything into account, I think the most important thing is the level of competition. Would Kolb have put up the same stats playing against better teams? If we miss out on Quinn, I want us to grab Trent Edwards, I really like what he brings to the game and I think he'd put up better numbers in the Nfl.
 
If we don't get Quinn, we have to trust the people we hired to get us the Right player for us. That's why they get the big bucks, to make the right choices for our team.

I'm glad to see someone not using the level of competition argument against guys like Kolb & Beck who are the true 2nd tier guys. Their college careers have been more distinguished & effective than Edwards & Stanton.

Edwards and Stanton were underachievers during their college days. Because, they played at a "marquee" name school, it does not automatically elevate them to 2nd tier.
