if we draft braylon edwards??

We'll draft Edwards and he'll have five receptions for 11 yards on the season. I will look back and say "I told you so", whilst Ronnie Brown sets new NFL Records running for 5,000 yards and converting to DB mid-way through the season. When [RONNIE'S TEAM] plays us, he runs for 450 yards on 5 carries with 5 touchdowns and picks off A.J. Feeley seventy-two times. Nick Saban grows a moustache.
:roflmao: I agree and if someone here can tell me when the last time a Michigan WR ever did anything in the NFL, I sure would like to know. Look no further than David Terrell...how about Anthony Carter? Desmond Howard was nothing more than a kick return specialist.

ok if we draft edwards who starts? chambers is one starter does edwards take bookers spot? none of the 3 will be happy as a 3rd wr, so who gets traded?

First off it would be a great problem to have, second BOOKER would be a #3 with no problem in my opinion as long as we were winning

theoretically speaking this would make booker the slot and i really don't think he's quick enough to play the slot

Come on...just because 2-3 players werent amazing doesnt mean he wont. He doesnt play like they do...everyone just goes of what college teams give off in the last billion years, and dont actually look at the player. People here jump to conclusions to fast. I bet the majority of the people who say stuff like "o well Michigan Wideouts have sucked, so we shouldnt give him a chance, even though he could be amazing, I would rather stick with Chambers, who cant even get close to showing his full potential" havent even seen Braylon Edwards play.

Well hopefully we'll draft a Qb early so that he will have someone to throw to him in a year or two when the Feeley experiment is mercifully over.

IF , we draft a wr i'll be pi$%#d off. we need a running back bad. running back by commitee never worked for us and it's not gonna work this year.
I don't care if frikin' Merlin the Magician is our line coach, we ain't gonna be runnin s**t.

What happens if Ricky is coming back? Then does that change your perspective? Would a running back still be your first choice? I know I wouldn't want a RB at #2 if Ricky was coming back. Maybe a little later in the draft. Saban has a lot of information that we don't. I like the way he is running things. No one knows what he's going to do. This leaves all the options open for Draft Day. It makes it a lot easier for a potential trade down.

I also like Edwards a lot and think he is the BPA in the draft. My question for you guys is: If we do get Edwards, are we going to go with Gordon at RB again? Or will we try and pick one up with any picks we get for surtain.

In terms of relative value I don't think picking a WR 2nd overall (and the commensurate signing bonus it requires) is worth it. If they could trade down I think Williamson could be just as good, or better. He is a tall receiver and much faster than Edwards or Williams, but played in a poor offense in college. He could be a steal.

shut up..ronnie brown didnt even start on his college team

If we pick Edwards, he will technically start since Linehad uses the 3 WR set. It will basically be interchangeable with him and Booker and Chambers, trying to get the best matchup for Chambers.

and we don't have to look forward to our staff drafting a cb with the first choice.

Well, don't rule out that possibility. If we trade Surtain (VERY likely), we may draft a CB like Antrelle Rolle with the first pick.

Anthony Carter??
He had a pretty decent NFL career.

The NFL career: After a stint in the USFL's Michigan Panthers, he went to the NFL where he was traded from Miami to Minnesota. He went on to a solid career catching 486 passes for 55 touchdowns. Most memorable was his 1987 performance in the playoffs against the heavily favored San Francisco 49ers. Everyone was expecting to see Jerry Rice light it up, but Carter turned in a performance for the ages catching 221 yards worth of passes an knocking out the Niners.
