We win that game yesterday. Bottom line. Saban is awful. He blew the game yesterday. On that final drive they drove all the way down field from the 10 yard line, then it was 3rd and 2 at the 34 yard line, and they rush up to the line to throw the ball out of bounds? What was he thinking? He had a time out left. Call the time out and set up a play!!! GEEZZZ , a first grader could do better. There was plenty of time left. Instead Mare has to kick a 51 yard FG, and came up way short. ( he has to go to by the way). Thanks Nick!!

coach saban didnt make mare miss neither did he throw 2 ints in the first quarter for the second week in a row that would be our limp wristed noodle armed qb

While i do not agree that Saban is awful or that Mare needs to go....i also could not figure out why they did not use the timeout on 3rd down...run a play...even for 5-10 yards....then spike the ball and kick the field goal. The coaches did drop the ball on this one.

Harrington threw that ball out of bounds last time I checked. He didn't want to screw anything up so he just got rid of it

Hold on. Only one of Harrington's picks were his fault. The first one, the so-called superstar Chambers, dropped it right in his chest.

I agree. Saban (and the staff he has assembled) are horrible. That last series was just MORE evidence. I have been posting evidence ever since the Buffalo game.

So what if Joey got sacked or if Ronnie didn't get out of bounds and they rush the kicking team on or they simply didn't get the 1st down.......where's the spiking down?

Oh please. Harrington played fine. The first INT was NOT his fault. OBVIOUSLY you have no idea what you are talking about because, OBVIOUSLY, you didn't watch the game.

What if Denney fires the snap over Donnie Jone's head...or Donnie drops the hold...or that Jet guy rushing the corner has his hand 3 more centimeters to the side and blocks the attempt?

We could play what if's all day.

Exactly!

I think they should have ran on the play though. Worst thing that could have happened is that he gets stopped for no gain and we call a time out. Best thing is that we get the first down, call time out, attempt one more pass then spike the ball. There was some things that could have been done differently, but the original posters way is not well thought out - obviously.

Harrington was most effective in the hurry up ala Sage Rosenfels. But let's take it for what it's worth. I am still unhappy at the rate he is turning the ball over. Even if you take away the pick that bounced off Chambers' chest, he's still got three picks in two weeks. One was on a miscue with Welker, but the other two were just plain dumb mistakes. For us to win, he'll have to cut those TOs down. Oh yeah, and on Saban, they definitely had time to try to pick up the first down on a better play choice; however, the safe play was not that bad because we were still in position to make the tying field goal. Olindo Mare needs to make that kick. Brown of the Seahawks came through on his. That's what clutch kickers do.

well...in my opinion...you use the timeout on third down. You then setup a quick hitter for at least 5 yards(thus getting the first down and not taking a chance of getting sacked) you then can run up...spike the ball....and kick. It was really just a waste of a play. I am not bashing everyone like some other posters, but I don't know how you can argue that we did not play that situation correctly.

Great, and then you can't stop the clock anymore because you spend your last time out after an incomplete pass. And that just for five yards?
If you take the time out the tie may be a safer thing, but if you go for the win you have to safe the time out and hope and that you can play on a 3rd and 2 like you did the whole drive.
