I was just wondering what you all thought. We were interested in the off-season, we just didn't have the money he wanted. Ty law by the way has 9 interceptions and is going to the Pro Bowl, but I am sure everyone here already is aware of that.

I would say yes we would have.

yes!!

if we would have signed t-buck we would be in the playoffs.

sometimes i think saban didn't realise he had the team he had
untill it was to late!

i mean why keep that awful howard when t-buck was begging
to come here? heck, he knew the defense and won a bowl
with billichek, why keep howard?

that one is on saban.

because howard wasnt thought to be awful untill this season

if we had law then travis daniels wouldnt have emerged as what he is, so maybe we would have been in the playoffs but this is better in the long run

Considering we may make a run at Ty Law this off season, yeah...it would have been nice to have had him this season.

But I hate questions like this. Who knew we'd be staring at the real possibility of 9-7 this season? Who knew for sure that Ty Law would still play at a pro bowl level?

Yes, Law would have brought veteran leadership, and big play making abilities to the secondary. Daniels would have had an easier transition into the NFL. But I don't disagree with the decision, this season has been a good learning experience for him. Now daniels has a year under hit belt, and cost much less than Law.

The potential for our secondary to be great is there. Poole, Mitchelle, and Daniels are all young and have the opportunity and ability to take it to the next level.

If we do make a run at Law then daniels better move to saftey because I dont want him out of the lineup the kid can play

He wouldn't be out of the lineup even if he played nickel. The nickel corner gets used as much as, say for instance, Junior Seau's spot at LB. Why do you think Reggie Howard has continued to get abused game after game like he's a starter? It's cuz teams know we've got a weakness in nickel and pick on Howard. Having Madison, Law, and Daniels would pretty much stitch up that gaping wound, then all we'd need is some good safeties.

Then again, Landry at SS and Daniels at FS sounds awful good to me.

You need a veteran like Schulters in there. It's not like he's hurt us in any way so why not re-sign him.

I'd want someone else in the picture of Madison, Poole, Daniels, and Mitchell.

I beg to differ. See the long touchdown to Doug Jolley against the Jets. Then see the long touchdown to Drew Bennett against the Titans. I wish I could say those were the first times he's screwed up too.

Lance hasn't been as good as he's been cracked up to be. He'll only be brought back if we have no other feasible options.

But you know CK, Bell hasn't been bad, now that's he's comfortable with this D, as a matter of fact, he didn't have such a bad pre season either.

Who says Madison isn't going anywhere, on a long term basis? As soon as they replace that dude with a groomed draft pick, he's outta here. Daniels might BE that draft pick. If Will Poole shows any promise like he's a starter? Bye bye Sammy...

Bell shows some promise, it's true..but we have to be honest with ourselves. He wasn't "solid" during the preseason...he was taking bad angles all over. Since then he's improved and maybe he maintains that, but I can't say he's been "good" either. Maybe he hasn't been given the opportunity to quite be "good" who knows...but at this point, Yeremiah Bell as a quality safety is pure speculation based on a few good plays.

Personally i dont think madison is going anywhere

His cap doesnt hurt us since the cap looks good for next year and he is still a quality corner

Bell hasnt been great but he has been making plays latley and thats a good thing no matter how you slice it
