Should they trade it for even more picks, and go for their qb in 2021? Or should they keep it and take their QB in 2020?

It’s hard to tell if Miami is going for a 2020 QB or a 2021 QB.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. If Rosen doesn’t show obvious signs of being the guy and you feel like Tua or Herbert is that guy; pull the trigger.

There’s no telling that whoever ends up with the 1st overall pick in 2021 would want to flip it with Trevor Lawrence staring at them.

But at the same time it feels like they might be aiming for that 2021 draft and riding with Rosen for two seasons and seeing if he has the goods.

It would be so great if we had the top pick and somebody went all Bill O'Brien to trade up with us to get their QB (Tua, Herbert, Fromm, Enter Name Here) and we either had our QB or weren't in love with any of those guys.

Trading #1 in 2020 for even more players in the 1st two rounds sounds very intriguing to fill out the roster with talent quickly. But as you said waiting on 2021 is even riskier. Lawrence may not even come out then possibly? What other QBs are going to be highly touted in 2021?

I would love those extra picks of a trade down to finally fix the O-line, Rosen could possibly succeed with that, if not then 2021 it is.

Was anybody thinking of Kyler Murray a year ago? Baker Mayfield two years ago? By the end of this season someone few people have ever heard of may be ranked above Tua. Happens almost every year.

Basically it comes down to if Miami really likes a QB. Don’t just draft one if you’re only lukewarm on him and your draft slots says you have to draft a QB there for value.

Maybe Houston goes all on, fails and BOB gets fired and they suck. 2 shots At Lawrence. We’ve waited this long....

Most difficult question right now is, if Marino’s 13 is retired and Rosen took 3, I wonder what jersey number Tua would take?

Regarding the OP question...

The way the draft obsession is nowadays if we have #1 pick
we could conceivably trade it for sufficient R1s to stock
half the team!

"You" (whoever you are) better be pretty amazing to forgo that!
Never mind the fact we already have Rosen and no prob getting
another top shelf QB prospect 2020 -- let alone time deferring to
2021.

I mean we could literally translate multiple R1s in various years
into an R1 frenzy!

>>> just thinking long term dominance >>>

At some point all those 1st round rookie contracts run out and then you have to pay...and you know the saying. Can't keep them all.
