Even though I am TOTALLY against QB in the 1st, I was still wondering out of the two, who does everyone like better, not so much personally, but as in "want to see be a Dolphin", Rodgers or Smith?

I like Rodgers the best. Not only do I llike him personally better than Smith, but I also like him play-wise better and, if we were to take one of the two, would MUCH rather it be Rodgers. Rodgers kind of reminds me of Marino, with his freakin cannon arm and amazing accuracy. I will even go as far as saying his Marino + 1 because he has the ability to make things happen with his feet. Not so much as Smith, but he is still a capable scrambler. He is like what we always wanted in Marion, a true passing QB that is able to scramble IF NEED BE.

Also, since I don't think (or since I HOPE we don't anyway) we'll draft a QB in round 1, when do you think we will go QB and who do you want/think it will be?

At first I was origianlly for McPherson in the 2nd (assuming we get it from KC or someone else in a trade down from round 1) but now I don't want him anymore. I'd be OK with taking him, but a guy that has really climbed MY personal board is Kyle Orton. He has been one of the three QBs I have wanted all along, but these past few days he has jumped to #1 for me, and even better in my eyes is that we can most-likely get him in round three, which is a big plus.

smith, by an absolute mile. I don't like rodgers.

As top tier 'franchise' QBs, which I would expect them to be if they go #1 and #2, I question both of their abilities. But Smith is so smart, got a 'football brain', that he should be able to get by on those smarts alone. Both are projects.

I'm totally not sold on either but out of the two - Rodgers

I think Rogers is better, but I like them both.

Rodgers, by far. Alex Smith is nothing more than a system QB. Like I said on another thread, this time next year Chris Leak will be the #1 player on most people's boards just because he will put up huge numbers in Urban Meyer's system. When people talked about Utah's outstanding season this year, they didn't mention Alex Smith's stats, they were forever mentioning Urban Meyer's system. Why do you think he went Pro? Because he knows his stock would have went way down with another coach?

I'll have to disagree about Leak, Leinart is going #1.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Alex Smith is a very overrated prospect in my opinion and if I was forced to choose between the guy QBs I would go with Rodgers. He seems to have played in an offence that more closely resembles a real NFL offence. Smith played the whole year in the shotgun and thus had inflated statistics.

Leinart is #1 next year, unless he gets injured. Back on topic in a second, time for a little rant.

Leinart is an IDIOT!!! HE WON 2 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS! HEISMAN TROPHY! GUARANTEED #1 IN THIS YEARS DRAFT! AND BACK TO COLLEGE????? WHERE HE COULD GET INJURED! WHERE HE COULD FALL FROM #1, WHERE HE COULD LOST A 70 MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT! I DON'T GET IT. ONLY THING I CAN THINK OF IS THE ***** MUST BE GOLDEN AT USC!! LOL

off rant

For QB I choose cambell cause hes a 2nd rounder, but at #2, first round, who do I choose?

Rodgers. I don't trust smith because of his system in collge, and so much shotgun offenses. I don't trust his reads against NFL defenses. I see him as a 2nd year starter at best.

If your hearts not in it... You have to do what you love... but..... millions of millions of dollars for playing a kids game? really, this is what it is. I was in the navy, and while because of risk of injuries, I was on the flag football team every year. Me and my buddies would get together and play tackle football, as an adult, cause its fun. I'm sorry, even if your hearts not in it, i fyou have a guaranteed contract, guranteed millionare, do it. Hell, take the money, do some good with it. Donate it. Build low income houses with. Take it and open up a business for what you really love to do!

he loves college and thinks he can learn for another year, that will benefit him later in his career. Its not all about the $$$. Plus, with the Lakers stinking it up, Kobe is no longer the darling of LA, Matt is.

Personally, whilst I appreciate where your coming from and that he could injured, I think Matt is smart. Either way he is going to #1, he would have been this year, and will be next year.

There is ALWAYS a risk of injury, but maybe he wanted to stay for another years experience. The more playing time you get in college, the better prepared for the NFL you are, especially in a QBs case. It's better for him to get as many mistakes out now as possible than when he enters the NFL. QB is the least forgiving spot, so it's the hardest to take a "trial by error" or a "learning under fire" approach. Take that Ryan Leaf situation, his "trial by error" NFL process failed HORRIBLY. Then you look at Peyton, who is a student of the game, and look who got the better end of that stick. I DO wonder if Matt now questions staying that Norm Chow left, and if he would have declared for the draft had he known Chow was leaving. I hope the new offense doesn't end up hurting his play, and thus his stock in the draft, next year though, because he has been a favortie player of mine for awhile now. Oh, and BTW, being a SoCal boy myself, lemme just say that the ***** is AMAZING, hahahaha, however, I don't think that would be a reason to stay, because I bet an NFL QB gets even more than a college QB (see "poster boy QB" Tom Brady, and Matt has the same "all-american good looks" as Brady).

But hes done all he can do in college. What else can you do? Lets see, in college you can

Win a national championship
Win the heisman
Get drafted #1

..... Well, he has 2 done, could have had the third. And if he gets injured, its so sad.

And I'm sorry, lets say your working somehwere getting paid $8 an hour, and you love your job, love the people you work with, then get offered $35 an hour for the same job. What are you going to do?

true... but he has a real chance of being a 3 time national champion and backtoback Heisman winner.

I know what your saying bout the money, and just hope he doesn't get injured because I agree, it would be very sad.
